Maybe SAF is still smarting from the DjembaX2 experience. LOL!

There should be an Essien/Mikel/Diarra type that would want to play for United.

well i posted it before not many big names stay put nowadays for a good while. and certainly one club legends are almost extinct.

just the way it is now. dont think that should discourage us. as long as they contribute to success i would be ok with it

Doesn't the Czech Republic fall into central europe?

Either way, fantastic player, former European player of the year, absolute legend.

"Lyon announce they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid on the details of the transfer of their international attacker Karim Benzema," said a statement on the Lyon website.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Great!! fantastic !!! Mr Fergie havent you done well, we have 80 million in the bank and we have bought a player from Wigan

Apparently Bensema is going to cost 30 mill and we have around 70 ????, and by the way, he has said he wants to play with the worlds best Players IE Real Madrid. I said a few weeks ago that all these World Class players leaving United doesn't create an Image that United are the Team of the future: Tevez gone, Ronaldo gone, Well done Fergie you have ------- it up again

Its hard to belive that the Management of Manchester United can be so inept
It would seem that somebody in the club has decided that having money in the bank is more important than winning Trophy's.
I would have been happy if Cruz had been lined up to sign, but no "City" have been working during there close season and as the saying goes "there quicker to the Ball"!!!!!
All the London press and Media are delighted by all of this, next move I predict will be a few Panic buys a'la' Veron and Jimmba jimmba :(

Are you really a fan of United?! Come on, it's only the first day of the transfer period. Granted we lost out on Bensema(sic) but the kid was never gonna choose United over Real anyways. There's still plenty of time for SAF to reinforce the squad.

And forget Tevez, greedy and selfish bastard that he is. And Veron was not a panic buy, it was a misguided (and ultimately failed) attempt by SAF to change the team's playing style with an eye on dominating Europe.

    Keep the faith, man!

You're trying to debate with someone who just spews out a rant and then is not heard from again for months.

In reply to previous posts...I am just saying we should be aiming higher than players that are not going to look to stay more than let's say 4 seasons.

Let's use an example suited for you. Do you think Hamsik will stay for more than 4 seasons if we signed him?

Not a chance, he'd use us as a stepping stone to move somewhere else. But if he helped us win trophies I would welcome him and I'm guessing you would too evem if he didn't stay for more than 4 seasons.:p

yeah.... that will be the hard part, we have a new coach, i dono if he'll be similar fergueson but I hope, I hope.

Also, someone said that ManU should buy villa. Yeah he would be the perfect buy but I'm pretty sure his staying. Doesn't matter if Man u, RM, Man city, chelsea or any other club want him. I'm sure benzema signing wouldn't happen if villa was available.

Man U buy aguero? That would be cool.
    it would be like,
    ----------berbatov--------
    Rooney----------aguero

    or

    --------rooney----aguero----
    nani--------CAM-----------valencia
    or some1 else.

I don't know this. I'm just saying this because Hamsik seems to be a player he likes so I did the same thing he said about Benzema. He said Benzema would only stay here for 3-4 years had he signed with us but he didn't know that either, he could have stayed for a decade, nobody will ever know now.

Did I say it was not. I am just saying compared to other targets it is not that much of a time. How do you know Hamsik would go in that timeframe? You dont...we knew Benzema wouldn't last long in any case considering him repeatedly saying he would like to go to Madrid.

I don't know if Hamsik would leave after 3-4 years. But you don't know for sure if he would stay past that either. Benzema had said he wanted to stay at Lyon until after 2010 but also said he would like to play there at some point in his career, it could have been at the end of his career after a successful run with us. Nobody knows for sure is my point.

Hamsik is a young promising player that everyone wants just like a lot of teams wanted Benzema. So you can't say you know how long/short Benzema would last here but not Hamsik.
