    against Spain and Brazil.
    Brazil is just an awesome team and you all should
    be proud of a 2nd place finish.
    Well done Clint,Landon and the rest of our national team.

    After being numb right after the game, angry 20 minutes after, depressed 30 minutes after, energized 40 minutes after, and in analytical mood 50 minutes after, in a fightin' mood 60 minutes after, I'm now in a sentimental mood (I'm even listening to the Ellington song).

    I think one of my favorite quotes is in order (I know quoting people gets tiresome on the internet but I'm doing it anyway). Teddy Roosevelt:

    After the final whistle blew I had tears run down my face but they tasted like victory and pride...thank you so much guys, a hell of a run and left it all on the field...I am proud to call myself a yank.

    I'm so proud of this team, I had a dream 2 nights before that we had won and that Dempsey scored and won the golden shoe but only part of my dream came true. These guys gave it they're all, Brazil is class, a well respected team loaded with talent but we were the talk of the tournament, one day we will beat them where it matters most. I am proud to be an american, i have a lot of pride for the US and am a die hard, hardcore US fan, I always take a lot of crap from my friends because they call me "gringo" just because I come from a Nicaraguan background and support the country that gave me everything, the country where I was born and raised, the red, white and blue. Dont get me wrong I have a lot of pride in being Nicaraguan, but I am Nicaraguan-American, this country was built on immigrants and it's great to see the different backgrounds on our national team. Things can only get better for us and the sky is the limit.

    I actually had TWO dreams about this game the night before. In one Donovan was sent off for dissent like 10 minutes in and I don't remember what happened after that.

    The other one I've already forgotten. Son of a bitch I can never remember my dreams.

    I'm a proud US soccer fan today. The last two weeks was a wild, roller-coaster ride full of frustrations and joy. What a brave and gutty effort from the US players.

    Did the US just play the most demanding 2 week schedule in international soccer history?

    * Spain = the #1 team according to FIFA and #1 according to ELO

    * Brazil TWICE = the #5 team FIFA, and #2 ELO in game 1 and #1 ELO in game 2.

    * Italy = #4 FIFA and #5 ELO.

    FOUR GAMES AGAINST TOP-5 RANKED TEAMS IN 14 DAYS!!!! TWICE FACING THE #1 TEAM ACCORDING TO ELO IN A 5 DAY PERIOD!!!

    I'd be shocked if anyone can find a more difficult match schedule in the history of this sport than what the US team just faced over the last 2 weeks.

    An amazing challenge. Tremendous pride.

    Now that I'm no longer disappointed knowing how close we were.

    I'm proud of the players for giving us something that we will probably look back on as a high point 10 years from now.

    And I look even more eagerly to the Gold Cup to see if any of those players can give us reinforcements or at least carry one our current level.

    And I eagerly await Jermain Jones day, the more talent and quality the better.

    That said, I also want to see Altidore improve and evolve the way we've seen Gooch since his last WC appearance.

    So much to look forward to fueled by the great performance of this tournament.
