I watched the whole game streaming on the internet from the office ... unbelievable ... so proud of these guys and (eating big crow) amazing job by the coach. Awesome job Bradley senior.

While I would have loved to see Torres and Adu - Bob had his system with Feilhaber and Casey (adjusting Dempsey and subbing Altidore) and then Bornstein came on after

He had his defensive compact system clearly well defined and we just nailed them on the counter. BBC is saying that Capello clearly will watch how we contained Spain in the final third.

Gooch, Dempsey, Donovan and Bradley were absolute monsters. Demerit played awesome as did all of them.

The world will notice this one. Wow.

will be fun to watch it tonight on the HD DVR at home.

whoever we play in the final certainly will not take us lightly.

Unbelievable. Still pissed about the red card and all the blown offside calls. The referee's were terrible. We need to ask for an official investigation. 3 red cards in 4 games, numerous questionable calls. Unreal.

Dang you beat me to it! All they had to do was to just write the dang story but nooooooooooooooooooooooo.................they had to add a "Who really cares?" poll.

ESPN(NOT DEPORTES) STILL SUCKS AND HATES SOCCER!

Thanks to Univision for amazing commentary and the best play by play as usual!!

    ....GIANT KILLERS WE ARE!!!!

I was thinking of you as he ran down a Spaniard on the wing... even if it wasn't you who said he was slow! :D

The headline is great but the poll is frankly astonishing. 24,609 have weighed in thus far about whether they care about the USA win and 84% say they do a lot. I would have been stunned if that number was 50% being that most of those are probably American voters.

    very prescient statement

truthfully - it helps us to play against Mexico in preparation for Spain and Portugal. We understand how to contain them to a degree.

    Wonderful victory....

Bradley has to go though. We won despite bradley. I would have taken out jozy but whatever. Then to waste a sub on jozy when our midfield is gassed, what the hell is he thinking? Put anybody in the middle, c'mon dempsey was completely gassed. Maybe it's just me, but these are substitutions he's gotta make. Spain was all over the u.s. In the 2nd half. Look what happened when he made the sub. He takes way toooooooooo long and then makes the wrong subs. Oh well.

Those are my bradley comments. I'm going to enjoy this game and call my dad. Donovan is a great player. He worked his ass off and has been doing so all tournament. For all the haters out there, **** you. Dempsey played his ass off too. He was spent when he came off. He should have been taken off 10-15 minutes earlier. He showed a lot today. Hell the entire team showed a lot today. Congrats and let's enjoy this victory.

Thinking the B team decision to Copa 2007, while it deeply insulted the almighty CONMEBOL, was the right call about now. If we should pull off the unthinkable on Sunday, they may choose to not invite the USA to Copa 2011 for entirely different reasons. Nice to dream anyway. In any case, these games served as tremendous preparation for the rest of 2009 WCQ and for next year.

Keep working that number up! USA will be the Sportscenter lead, then LSU winning the CWS.

What was up with all the blown offside calls? If we can learn to hold those runs just a little, it could have been another 1 or 2 goals.

Can we change the name of the thread to "Go vote in ridiculous ESPN.com poll" or start a new thread? Seriously... I realize it's potentially not "Analysis" worthy, but c'mon...

is it just me, or did the number of "voters" go from 5,000, to 30,000 in a matter of 20 minutes in that poll...

he just wanted to see us go 3 for 4 (reds in matches) ..... or he wanted to see our midfield weakened against Brazil or South Africa ... or he wants to see Torres play?

Re: Not to get far ahead of ourselves

I am finally starting to believe that this is the year. If it were played now I would bet $ on the US. However let's take into consideration that both Egypt and Spain underestimated the US and did not study them well whereas Mexico won't.
