v. WHERE: Toyota Park WHEN: 6/23/09 7:00 pm TV: TeleFutura Seriously, Chivas USA embarrassed themselves and the league yesterday. They lost to a bunch of teenagers. Tigres had a conflict so they sent their U-20 team to play Chivas, and apparently that's all they needed. I assume they'll pick up their game against us because of our previous match in LA, but damn that was bad. In addition, Lillingston stupidly got himself ejected so he's out against us. As for us, everybody's available except for Thor, Dasan, and Baku. Many of our guys looked dead tired toward the end of the San Luis game, so I wouldn't be surprised if some guys like Nyarko and Mapp get the start. Let's get our three points.
Judging from the photo on the MLS website, some of those kids (and I mean KIDS) don't even look old enough to have pubes yet. Tigers? heh.. they look like kittens. Still, there is the factor of the previous match in LA, as revancha will assuredly be on the minds of TheFakeGoats. Should be interesting, and better attended.
This is the game Fire needs supporters on the field .... said that..Zach is one good keeper but once he goes on ground ,he takes forever to regain composure ....i hope Fire tests him from the start and have some one to collect the rebounds....we really need Thor to deal with Nagamura...
Will see alot of reserves for the Tuesday night game against CD Chivas, and the starters will return for Saturday's game. So we will see, Woolard, Mapp, Nyarko, Baggio and or Dimitrov.
I like our reserves, but I don't think they can beat a full-strength Chivas team. However, if the goats play their reserves too, we should take it in a walk.
http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chi...2009/06/fire-practice-report----622.html#more 1. Thor is still out. 2. Practice was very easy today. 3. Blanco and McBride didn't even come to practice. They were given the day off entirely, so I (SixKick) expect that they'll be starting tomorrow. 4. Dasan is back.
Assuming Chivas wants to qualify for the semis, they will need to get at least a point out of this game so I would anticipate that they will put a reasonably strong lineup on the field.
I think this crowd is going to be much bigger. You have Fire fans, Chivas fans, San Luis, and Tigres fans. I think this will be the second highest attended game so far, next to the CA.
San Luis had maybe 2,000 fans at the last game tops, I don't know about Tigres but I'm not optimistic since I don't think either of the teams are big draws, but who knows? Maybe the Chivas fans will show up en masse.
The Fire have said that due to the heat today, fans will be allowed to bring into the park up to one liter of water per person.
