Well most of them have at least accepted that he is worthy of being on the team and MAYBE even worthy of being a starter. I think that's why they are focusing so much on Bob now.

If Michael Bradley talking smac helps, well. . . so be it. However, I really don’t think it’s all that professional, but then I’ve never been in his shoes.

I suppose if this does help well, who am I to argue, I just prefer to be a class above the next guy.

If people hate Michael Bradley quotes I'm sure they're going to absolutely LOVE what Jermaine Jones has to say. His eloquence is palpable.

He wants me to respect Bob playing favorites, starting Beasley over and over and over again, letting Sacha within flight distance of the field, not allowing Adu or Torres (the future of American soccer) playing time to help them along in their careers, (like Daddy did for sonny!)

NOt playing Spector for so long, and starting Heydude, Wynne, etc...over an EPL player we all knew was better than the shit he put out there. ( and we were right!)

Letting Casey get minutes and wearing the US shirt? WTF Bob, Is Casey or Adu the future of American soccer? ******** you Bradley and lil Mickey wants to be a little ********** and attack the people that actually care he can go ******** himself.

They played good today against a tired and injured Egyptian team and the USMNT have sucked for a long time now and been run like a AYSO winter league, we'll see against Spain how big his words will be, loser...

He actually didn't want us to criticize their play after the shit they laid out on the field? We criticize because we're fans and we call it like we see it. They played like shit, is denying that? And they deserved to be ripped mercilessly for playing the worst soccer I've ever seen. So STFU and play with heart and we won't have to resort to utter embarrassment that you guys were for almost 4 months now...

I have zero problem with Bradley lashing out. I actually like his fire and I liked the fire his teammates showed today. On the other hand, there's no denying the fact that this team has looked lifeless far too often this year and if what we saw today is an indication that the pressure has been ratcheted up on these guys, so be it.

If they don't like the comments then read here, then play with the mindset that representing the US in international competition actually means something.

You would think that would be a no brainer, but recent results say otherwise.

Could it be that the players had a little pride about being the laughingstock of the tournament and it wasn't for the coach?

I saw Landon try to do the soccer equivalent of putting a team on his back. He hasnt played like this in ages. I liked it.

With that being said, Dempsey played like a dog for all but one moment, the backs moved up and did not hustle back the way they should have.

I think Jozy is out of gas. He just didnt seem to me to have a full tank. Casey has no business putting on the white jersey IMO.

Egypt played almost like they expected to get through regardless of effort. Some guys put it out, others did not.

Bradley has been a stalwart and I like him as a player. Lots are saying he doesnt belong on the field and his PT is due to his status as the coaches son, I dont buy that. He can play.

The true test will come on Wednesday. Im happy as @#$ that they have a shot against the WC Faves. Perhaps the guys on the team finally have realized that we are laughed at but the world media.

Lastly, maybe Bradleys quote should be headed towards the Spanish,English,Italian, etc media. Im pretty confident their critiques make the BS board mild by comparison.

Bradley makes the mistake of thinking that most US fans were doubting the potential of the team. We weren't. We were questioning the decisions of the coach. All of those questions still remain.

I like passion, but for Bradley to tell US fans to f--- off is stupid. It is like he wants to destroy what little fanbase the USMNT already has.

Or maybe those people were more questioning the fact Mike got a ton of starts before his form at a club level or for the NT level warranted it. His form since has merited the inclusions in the starting lineup, and the issue has stop being relevant. If you want to discuss the merits of his inclusion in the starting lineup in the first half of 2007 thats fine, but most posters have moved on.

Hell yeah. We need more fire and swagger on this team.

This is an internet soccer board of casual conversation amongst anonymous posters. Nonsensical to compare what's said here to what's said from the position responsibility that comes with taking a check from the USSF.

The upshot of this is that the whole team was feelin mad pressure. You could tell from the overwrought celebration after the second goal against Honduras.

    At home against Honduras.

Look at the emotion roboBob evinced on the sidelines after the goals today. You tellin me he wasn't feeling the heat. Shhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiddddddd. Somebody, somewhere with some decision making abilty must've had converstion with the man.

When was the last time you ever saw that much emotion from stoneface? Any emotion? Sometimes it takes that little bit to rally the troops.

Sergo Beria has been fighting to rehabilitate his father Lavrentiy Beria's name

Never underestimate the however irrational fidelity of a son.

I don't have a problem with his or Bradley pere's comments as I'm sure they were feeling a heat redolent of the MetroStars situation.

Likewise there's nothing wrong with criticizing these guys on an internet board. The level to which some posters go to defend the Bradleys against any criticism makes me wonder what kind of tools these people are in the everyday lives. Really dislike slime like that in my rw life.

So in other words Bob Bradley developed an American player into a top talent. WTF is wrong with that? He obviously trying to do the same thing with Benny and Jozy.

The US national team is not a developmental team. Adu has hardly played at all with his club and likely is not in form.

All coaches prefer experience if they can get it. Spector is now starting to reach his potential.

    Grow up.

Taking this personally much? You're an anonymous internet poster. MB wasn't insulting you.

I think most would agree that Michael Bradley plays with heart.

We had three games and easily could've had three red cards... you have no idea what your talking about!

Bradley needs to play more under control and disciplined along with everyone else on this team and then we can actually see a thing called consistency.

I take back anything bad I've ever said about Michael Bradley; he has more than made up for the 3rd Costa Rica goal and has proved to be one of the bright spots of this tournament, playing good when the rest of the United States didn't.

I still think we need a better coach, unless Senior can get this kind of heart and fire out of the United States every single game.

His comments seem to be direct arguments against guys like Trecker and Lalas. I don't think that he ran back to the hotel to check BigSoccer after the Brazil game, but I think it's entirely possible that he had heard about what ex-US guys like Lalas and Cobi Jones were saying in the media.

Soooo... I think this little meltdown is a little unwarranted. And even if he was responding to this board... so what? He's not calling people out by names, and there's been an awful lot of stuff non-soccer related that he could be responding to, some really below the belt stuff that's been said about Bob.

Was this really necessary? You really HAD to call the Bradley defenders tools and slime?

Right up until he plays another game where he gives the ball away cheaply 6 times in the center circle.

He's not as bad as everyone said he was, but he's not as good as everyone says he is. He is not our savior but more a guy that can do a job for us for a full 90 and scrap a goal every 5 games or so.

He's effort is second to none, his poise could use some considerable improvement still.

Love the fire and love the big finger he gave to the haters who were hoping for a loss to get rid of Bob. This was one of the guttiest performances in USMNT history and Michael was a major part of it. I hope this win is a sign of good things to come and I think it will be. IMO, we will be sticking with this 4-4-2 and we will be taking the game to our opponents from now on. No more 4-5-1 or 4-3-3. We have our formation, now it's time to tinker and adjust. If we have a nice run in 2010, I think we can look back to this game as the moment this team and coach started to figure it out. And yes, this is irregardless of what happens against Spain.

    Go get 'em boys!

whoooaaaa ... slow down there junior. let's not pretend that what anyone writes here on BigSoccer actually makes a difference. it doesn't. i've been on here since 2000. it's a good place to vent/exchange ideas. it doesn't influence anything.

I agree... no other board I post on assumes that a player is talking about the board when they come out against "haters." It's always understood to be the media, unless something drastic happens like the fans booing the players or the manager. It's unbelievable what we've seen with this thread. Some classic overreactions even for BS levels.

    what he said.

i don't want anyone on here thinking that what they write actually affects the players or managers or executives. even if they do happen to glance at a couple posts, it doesn't affect anything.

if anyone on here is taking credit or offense for Mini Bob's lashout you're incorrect.

Decision makers, players, and reporters read blogs and boards, so there's certainly some influence.
