it'd be hilarious if BB starts Beaz again, just to rub it in the US fan's faces.

and quite frankly, i won't be a bit surprise if BB does such a thing.

This is kind of brainless. If Bocanegra is injured, then the last thing we should do is further risk his health on this fairly hopeless quest.

No, no. The best thing we could do is put a gimpy central defender in the line-up. Because it'll be good to have a key player get hurt and miss his club's preseason and our next few WCQs. Oh, and, it'll be really good because what you want is to have a guy Egypt can run by more easily. Plus which, if he gets hurt 24' into the first half, it'll give us a chance to use a sub early and to get fresh legs on before anybody on the field is even tired.

Why when DeMerit has clearly been the better player for the last 3 years? Boca is past his best. DeMerit is at his peak.

Egypt are a better team than us, they have more talent and speed and are more attack minded.

We don't have strikers capable of scoring goals in open play and we no longer work hard to get the corners that generate most of our goals.

I predict another shutout 2-0 to Egypt.

Same goes for the ever-useless Dempsey; The guy who can't do the simple things like collect, pass, and maintain possession but who "excels" at Blanco Hops to Nowhere and Rabona Kicks to Marked Players (all when 3 goals down w/ 5 minutes left).

BS should filter out too regionally associated dialects. I suppose this is meant to seem intelligent and, therefore, charge the argument with unwarranted validity...

This tourney has actually been a good and needed experience. On the plus side, the players are talented enough to win these games and for me it has come down to tactics.

Given this is a dry run for the WC, I truly believe Bob will either resign or be relieved after the Egypt game. It just depends on who we can bring in to steady the ship. A Louis Van Gaal or someone of similar stature could get our boys back to the quarter finals.

The feeling I have right now is the US players despite having only the tiniest chane of qualifying will got into this Egypt game feeling they have a lot to prove, whereas despite the fact the better the result Egypt get, the better the chances they have of qualifying may be going into this game with some complancency creeping in having done the hard work defeating Italy and stretching Brazil.

There's no doubt in my mind that Egypt are the better team, but I think talk of an Egypt whitewash is premature. At this stage I'm not discounting a USA win, but what I can't see happening is the USA qualifying for the next round.

I wonder how much we would have to pay Bayern to get him to coach the National Team

To all you Deuce Doubters out there - Who would you like to see instead of Dempsey?

I didn't see the tico game or most of the brazil game, but in the other two games he looked like one of our only competent players.

No he's not. Aboutreika is the main playmaker and brains of the team.

Zidan while their primary goalscorer in this tournament is only a 2nd/3rd option behind Zaki and sometimes Mido - who seems to consistently fall out with the manager.

    My guess for the line-up

    --------------Altidore--------Casey-------------

    Donovan------------Bradley-----------Dempsey

    ---------------------Clark----------------------

    Bornstein-----DeMerrit------Onyewu------Spector

This is based on Bradley's history and available players. Casey's job will be to hold up the ball for Altidore, Donovan, Bradley and Dempsey to crash the box. There will be a push to get the ball forward quickly. A request from Bob to the team..."Please, please, please can finish a game in the Confederations Cup with 11 men? Thanks!"

I feel that this is Adu and Torres' best chance at playing. I'm not saying that they will play or should play. Just that this is probabably their best chance.

what the hell is experimental about that? If he does that, he should be fired AT on the spot.

I don't remember using the words "experimental line-up". I belive I inferred "likely line-up". Correct me if I'm wrong.

It seems like the best result today would be Brazil beating Italy and US/Egypt being a 6-0 rout, and it doesn't matter in which team's favor although I would prefer a victory for the US.

I still like this lineup with Dempsey subbing in immediately at the beginning of the second half if we have any chance at all:

    -------------------Howard-------------------
    Spector-----Onyewu---DeMerit-----Bocanegra
    --------------------Clark--------------------
    Donovan-------------------------------Torres
    -------------------Bradley-------------------
    ---------------Altidore-----Adu---------------

I see this game being very close. This is the only game the US has left to salvage any dignity from this tournament, so I think the players will be up for the challenge this time around. I'd say a goal probably decides this and it could go either way, but I'll go with 1-0 Egypt.

Bob has a system and believes in his system. Bob has players who he believe give us the best chance.

I'm hoping Bob sticks with his convictions and starts the same team from the Brazil game, replacing Sacha with Clarke.

I want Bob to have every chance to demonstrate the effectiveness of his system and selections.
