Lucky you, have a blast... and like Monty says, don't sleep! :D
Do make time for the Camp Nou tour, museum, grounds, botiga (store)... btw, I think the only dressing room you can go into is the visiting team one.

For any information, check out the official site: www.fcbarcelona.cat
It's summer, so hours might be different. There is a fee for visiting the museum which includes the stadium tour itself. You can walk around the grounds and visit La Botiga (store) at no cost except what you spend at the shop for all your Barça goodies, hehe. ;)

Barça is awesome.... be sure to leave plenty of time to explore Barri Gotic. There is a FC Botiga at the northwest corner of the Plaça Catalunya. We stayed right above it in a friend's apartment.

I have to say that the second most popular team in town must be Manchester United, followed by Chelsea, then Spain, then Espanyol.

I am going to London with my old man in July. We are very interested to attend the Wembley Cup on 24 July, when Spurs will play Barca.

Does anyone know what I should do to get two tickets? Should I enroll to be a member? Thanks in advance.

I will be in Barça for the CL final on the 27th. Anyone know of the best place to watch the match? I am assuming every tv in the city will be on, but where is THE place? Also, does anyone know if public screens will be available?

Also - where should I be when we win?

The answer to all your questions is Las Ramblas, every bar on the street will be packed with people watching. If Barça wins, get ready not to sleep.

If you walk down the Ramblas toward the Mediterranean, hang a left at the McDonalds and down about 100 feet on the right, you will see "My Bar" or something like that. It's definitely an English pub.

Will be in Barcelona on the 28th and I've always wanted to go to a European match, is it a home or away fixture that weekend? How hard is it to get tickets, in general, for a La Liga match?

^^^Barça will be away at Deportivo when you're in town. Espanyol on the other hand will end the season playing at home in Barcelona at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. If interested, check out their website for tickets and details.

Thats a shame, but will definitely settle for whatever. How far away is their stadium from Las Ramblas? And should I get tickets ahead of time or can I get them the day of the game?

    Re: Barcelona Travel

Yes, it sure is a shame not being able to catch Barça. I gave you the info regarding the "enemy" team because you mentioned a "european" match. ;) In any case, I'm sure it would be fun for you. Check the website for ticket info, I don't really have that. It's not far from Las Ramblas, lots of public transport available... or a nice hike...

Hotels, I don't know about. I've stayed with friends, but also in this awesome hostel. If you stay here be prepared to party til you pass out.

When does the 09/10 schedule come out?

I want to plan a trip to see Barça again and was wondering if anyone knows when the 2009/2010 schedule is normally released? Gotta line up the airline and hotel details.

    Thanks

    Joe

    Re: Barcelona Travel

Back in 06, my brother and I stayed at a hostel in the Las Ramblas area. It was an easy subway/tube ride to the neighborhood around the stadium and about a 2 to 3 block walk from the station. As for tickets, we went on a Friday morning to Camp Nou and got in line (about 30 min wait) to get tickets for a Saturday match against Sevilla. Then we took the stadium/museum tour and spent way too much money at the Barca store :D.

After the match 90k+ people flooded the streets and brought traffic to a stand still so head for the subway/tube stations. We found 2 lost retired Irish gents who were staying in our general area so we helped them find their way back and they repaid the favor by buying us beers til we were all staggering down Las Ramblas. Good times and a Barca win! Looking forward to heading back this fall.
