Man, July 24th? No rest for the weary, huh.

I'm gonna need to get out to one of those west coast games. What does the ticket availability look like? I'm guessing those the HDC games are either sold out, or will soon.

    I'll add the venues.

LA game is gonna be in the Rose Bowl, not the HDC, and last I looked there was still $25 tickets for the Barça GA section.

Reports are now surfacing that Barcelona will also play Chivas Guadalajara in San Francisco's Candlestick Park as part of a doubleheader, with San Jose Earthquakes taking on Columbus Crew in the other match.

2nd leg of Super Copa at Camp Nou will be on 23 August.

Trofeu Joan Gamper to be played on Tuesday August 18 (opponent yet to be determined) according to the club's website, but I'm guessing that may eventually be pushed back a day to Wednesday the 19th.

Champions League group stage draw will be on August 27, the day before the UEFA Super Cup.

Sunday August 9th should read Candlestick Park, where the NFL 49ers play. And it is now officially back to being called "Candlestick Park", no longer 3Com or Monster Park.
AT&T Park is where the Giants play MLB. ;)

As a big lover of The Beatles music, watching Barcelona play at that venue... I hope I don't shed a tear or anything watching the Fab Four of Leo, Xavi, Carles and Andrés. :D

If true, that might be the one I go to.

[edit] Cripes! Just realized that was Chivas de Guadalajara, not Chivas USA. That ish is going to sell out too sweet. Are the tickets on sale yet?

Whoops, I actually thought it was at AT&T, since that's where most soccer friendlies are. How the hell could I think a Chivas - Barça game would be anywhere besides The Stick or Mount Davis in Oakland.

Last time I was at Candlestick was years ago when the Giants played there and it was Opening Night against the Padres. Supposed to be the start of summer, let's play two and all that, right? Yeah, I don't think so. I was freezing my webos off, wearing a parka and drinking coffee to stay warm. Definitely bring at least a sweater, even in August.

    Still... it'll be fantastic.

BTW, Ticketbastard isn't showing the Candlestick game yet.

I would love to go to seattle, great atmosphere for footy there.

Dammit, I really want to go to the gigs, errr... I mean matches in SF and Seattle. Can I just follow them up the coast like people use to do with the Grateful Dead?

Seriously though, Seattle is probably out of the question for me since it's midweek and I'm trying to go up there already in September for Chivas USA @ Sounders (It's ON, Rurik! CUSA is going for the sweep! :D ;))

But SF, I think I'm gonna have to go! Especially if you lot are all there in full effect.

SPORT and EMD both confirm that the Gamper has officially been switched to Wednesday August 19.
    Opponent yet to be determined.

To avoid confusion the dates and times probably need to be changed up a bit because I've been going nuts trying to find out when exactly the date of the San Francisco match was being played as some reports list Saturday the 8th while others say Sunday the 9th.
The confusion comes in the time zones.
The match is being played on Saturday night August 8th Pacific Daylight Time. In Barcelona it will the early hours of the morning on Sunday August 9th.
Likewise, The Galaxy game is on Saturday 1 August PDT (Sunday 2 August Central European Time) while the Seattle contest is on Wednesday 5 August PDT (Thursday 6 August CET).
    ;)

If a bunch of you are going to be here for the SF game, it might be fun to hook up. Might be a lot of trouble, but who knows...

Oh, you lucky devils... have FUN!!!

The "closest" I'll get to Barça is on June 28th. How you ask? Well, former LPB "ButtHead" Zidane... and Friends will be in Montreal as part of a three city Canadian tour (some funds going to UNICEF). Two of those friends are non other than Eto'o and Giuly. :p

Thought I saw someone asking about when the new La Liga schedule will be released. (thought it was this thread)
I'm not sure when, but if it helps any it was released last year on Wednesday 16 July.
One further note: For the past six seasons Barcelona has opened their Liga campaign away from home...

    2007/08: Racing (A) 0-0
    2006/07: Celta (A) 3-2
    2005/06: Alavés (A) 0-0
    2004/05: Racing (A) 2-0
    2003/04: Athletic (A) 1-0
    2002/03: Atlético (H) 2-2

New to the site....Will be going to the SF game for sure!!!!!
I can walk to the stadium (which I wouldn't recommend if you dont go the right path), and I will try to get a premo seat. I was ready to go to LA and catch the game with my fam out there, but no need to do that more.
