I've been waiting for something to pop up on the forums about getting together to watch the game on Monday but haven't seen anything yet. I do realize it is during a work day but figured there are at least several people out there who would want to gather up and cheer on the 'Nats. Any interest?

    Cheers,

I'll probably make it to The Mez then as it's a good middle point for my buddy and me. Seeing comments about breakfast makes me recall going to Mother Egans in Austin to watch all the World Cup games...Man, how beautiful it was to eat breakfast tacos in an Irish Pub at 8:30am as the first match was coming on.

Hopefully several of us will make it out there.

No doubt, Spain has awesome talent including one of the best in Torres but it looked to me like New Zealand was standing around watching the show. NZ was intimidated from the get-go and it showed.

By "intimidated", do you mean "comparative lack of talent"? Andrew Boyens vs. Torres !!! yikes!!

The ball movement by Spain in the early going was a thing of beauty. New Zealand just looked outclassed....And I won't even mention the you-know-what play. Looking forward to tomorrow....Hope I'm rewarded for my anticipation.

Anyone plan on watching the game in the Katy area or know of any soccer pubs in the area?

Egypt is playing some fantastic football. US is going to struggle to earn even a point out of this group.

What do you think the turn-out at the Mezzanine will be for this afternoons US match?

    Thanks for nothing, Egypt.

Not only did you look even tougher than I expected for our game....But you took no points away from Brazil and probably woke them up for the game against us.

Not long now till I'm heading off for the Mezzanine. Friend is meeting me there but I'll probably just pop into a group that has already gathered. Still hoping we can do what Egypt couldnt.

That game tying goal by Rossi was pretty awesome. Howard looked like he was not on line and the defense gave him WAY too much room, but no excuses that shot was killer.

Clarks red was some BS I thought. Yellow sure, but strait red?

Another great shot by Italy. That is a shame.

the German announcers here don't speak very kindly of the US team... although, not that they deserve any praise at the moment

bradley senior has some work to do. and yes, rico imagined a yellow at worst.. but straight red slap to the face... seemed unwarranted. and that jump on donovan at 36 (2nd half) was more of a penalty than altis!!! wow, ref ate his whistle...
