We've never notified FO of any plans when we used to do stuff. Unless you count me telling their photo/video guys beforehand so that they have stuff for their advertising.

And everything we've done that's taken for granted today has been prohibited at one point, balloons, flags, streamers, smoke etc.

That said S8 has been doing flares for 10 years, I don't have problem with them having best pyro cos they worked hard for that :) I'm sure their FO will bitch to their ISA and then use images in promos (they already had it all over big screen during game). they're just covering their ass, but they'd be dumb not to use it, MLS pics of the year so far :)

I'm pretty sure the "soccer moms" and other PG-13 type crowds are not considering joining the Barra, with or without flares.

I wasn't worried about them. It's the guys who can't even master throwing beer who worry me.

Do you suppose that S8 has this one figured out? Some of our section visitors sure don't. What if these idiots brought flares?

    Yeah, yeah, yeah...

But what about soccer MILFs and the NC-17 type crowds?

hmmm......how about strobes? they're small. they burn out on their own. they don't propel anything. just light and take a step to the side.

Well hell, if you're going to do sparklers, you might as well go all out with glow necklaces and bracelets.

Lighting off hundreds of sparklers at one time is actually quite impressive.
I saw it once at a large wedding.

That's the shit that pisses me off the most. Out of one side of their mouths, the league says "don't do it." Out of the other corner of their mouths, they tell their staff to make sure it goes into all the promotional material.

Just so they don't get thrown on the field...

When I was a kid I started a small brush fire in California by throwing a lit sparkler into it.

Fortunately it was a vacant lot, not a National Forest
