Wouldn't it be amuing if the Scum got ******** all this summer. They lose Ronaldo and Tevez, miss out on Ribery and Eto. Now that would be hilarious....

I don't think Ribery is moving. Not until next summer. I also don't think Eto'o is leaving. However, I do think United will be aiming to bring in Benzema and Valencia. If Barca gets Benzema, then United or City will move for Eto'o.

This summer is going to be ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I don't even want to know where the ceiling is going to be for money spent. I bet Real Madrid goes over 200 M GBP this summer.

In all honesty. I think Rafa will get some decent signings. I hope we can get Johnson, that would be an absolute coup to beat out City and Chelsea.

I would be happy if we signed Glen Johnson and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

It seems very likely to me that the current drift in world football is being driven by the Cardassian Union. The Cardassians have long been jealous of the fact that many illiterate, superstitious sand dwellers have polluted the plains of Cardassia, and they have been splashing a lot of cash for players who, while good at their respective positions, are impure -- for lack of a better word.

I think the Bajorans would be in the best position to challenge the Cardassian Union for supremacy, but they don't seem to be able to develop a strategy that will overcome the Cardassians' sheer determination.

    We shall see.

Why would you swap one of the best young CM's in the world for a 28 year old striker who doesnt have great finishing skills and is supposedly a cnut?

How would we benefit? He would be a bench player behind Torres and would most likely create controversy by complaining about not getting starts, just like Tevez would.

i think Benitez should hold out for 150M Euros for Torres. Then he can buy Newcastle United and collapse their squad into Liverpool's. As far as wages go, just give 'em Whiskey.

"Despite repeated media speculation on the futures of Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano, Liverpool has received no official approach or offer from any club regarding the players.

"Neither is for sale and furthermore Liverpool has no interest in the long list of Spanish based players being linked with a move to Anfield as part of any deal."

It don't get more definitive than that!

    Right.

However, not only does this rule out the sales of Mascherano and Alonso (really good news), it also rules out the buying of Silva, Negredo, etc (mixed news).

Like I said earlier, if we can get Lavezzi and Johnson I would be very happy. Buying Lavezzi would allow Rafa to move Babel into a more central role to backup Gerrard and/or Torres. I think our team would be very good if our 22 man depth chart looks something like this.

    GK: Reina, Cavalieri
    RB: Johnson, Arbeloa
    CB: Carragher, Skrtel
    CB: Agger, Kelly
    LB: Insua, Aurelio
    DM: Mascherano, Spearing
    DM: Alonso, Lucas
    RW: Kuyt, El Zhar
    AM: Gerrard, Benayoun
    LW: Riera, Lavezzi
    ST: Torres, Babel

I know I left out other players and that some (like Benayoun, Kuyt, Babel, Lavezzi, El Zhar, etc) can cover other positions.

Some amusing stories today. Torres to Man U? Lol. We know they covet him but he has just signed a 5 year contract and has given an interview about how much he loves it at Anfield. He is clearly not interested in moving.

Arbeloa to Real Madrid? WTF? Why would he want to go there? He was there before and left because he was not being played. Why would he go there so that he can sit on the bench behind Ramos? At LFC he is playing regularly has won a place in the Spanish team and has featured in many key games for us. His profile has certainly been boosted since we picked him up in a January window.

Also I would agree to sell Masch to Barca but only in a swap deal for Messi. Or a swap deal for Xavi and Iniesta. :D

I really do doubt that we are getting Johnson. Im fairly sure that itll be Arbs, Degen and Darby as our RB's for next season.

That would be too bad. I hope he doesn't go back to Chelsea. I would lose respect for him then.

This transfer window has been turned on its head by Real Madrid. Add in City throwing around money like its going out fashion.

Financial problems at Liverpool, Chelsea are going to spend big again it would seem. Villa and Spurs are likely to be in the market as well with plenty of money. Man U will have to spend big to keep their fans happy - should have a huge budget after the Ronaldo sale.

I can see a huge amount of business being done this summer
