Re: J-league Merchandise I'm mainly looking for Jubilo and Urawa stuff (scarves, sweatshirts, jackets)
Re: J-league Merchandise Jubilo will be tough but Koshigaya is in Saitama about a half hour away from Tokyo by train. Sports Authority has everything Urawa you could want and it's in a huge shopping mall so it might be worth a couple of hours.
J League Scarves? Where can I buy Nagoya and Kashima scarves? I don't think the offical team sites will ship to the USA.
Re: J League Scarves? Try some major japanese sports stores on the net. But I think your only choice will be get a friend to send one from japan. I buy my gear from the stadium. Only seen merchandise in small sports stores
Re: J League Scarves? Since the Japanese season runs basically spring to fall and through a humid summer, most scarfs in Japan are basically towels. There are "classical" winter scarves too, but it might be difficult to tell the difference from online pictures, so watch out! Towel-Mufflers cost ¥1,500 for J.League, or ¥1,800 for the NT. For JFL clubs it really depends, I have seen some at ¥900, up to ¥2,000.
Re: J League Scarves? Wow, the prices are too much if converted into Rupiah Too bad, J.League is not popular here in Indonesia. It's very hard to get J.League merchandise, even the knock off one. Just for information, scarfs made in Indonesia for local market usually minimum tagged at Rp 30,000 or around US$3/¥300
Re: J League Scarves? I know that Gamba, at least, clearly state if it is a "towel muffler" or just a regular "muffler", which is good for me because I prefer traditional knitted scarves, To the OP: If the club don't ship internationally and you don't know anybody in Japan, you could always use a shopping agent (though you have to pay a commission fee so it is better to buy in bulk if possible). I personally use http://crescent-shop.com/.
Re: J League Scarves? This guy will be able to help with J-League merchandise purchasing. Just email him with details of what you're interested in.
Re: J League Scarves? Check eBay in the near future. I stopped by the local sports shop today and from now all the 2009 goods for Mito and Kashima are half price since the new styles will be released in the new season. I'd imagine a glut of cheaper scarves in the next few weeks.
Re: J League Scarves? @Goru: Of course, even every province doesn't have the same minimum wage for labour. Rp 5000 in Jogjakarta could get one decent meal including iced tea , for that price in Jakarta you could only get a plate of rice plus one vegetable stew, excluding drink (and I could assure you, the meal only almost decent) @TrooperBari: Yup, I think some people got it (even more) and they're not from the medium class for sure
Would this be the right place to make a plug for my little UK Ultras picture book? Oh, go on then. I knocked this up for my football buddies, but I've had a few voices express an interest, so rather than me order them and pass them on, I made it available for whoever wants to buy one. Click here for a little window into the UK Ultras and their fun times down Nihondaira and beyond. Blog post about it is here.
