I don't know. Brazilian Time Zone ain't really good for Europe or Asia. The games will probably be played at 13:30, 16:00 and 20:30 just like south africa, although games at 13:30 are not common in Brazil.

good choice, however I expeteced Belem instead of Natal

and then, Brasil needs to be very cautious with construction in Manaus and the ecology

western europe(spain, france, italy, scandinavia, balkan countries, most of africa(cameroon, nigeria, tunicia, congo) 5.00PM (GMT +1 , SUMMER TIMES +2)

so the best time for games would be

    Brasil 14.00, 17.00, 20.00
Manaus only at 16.00 or 19.00

let's pretend england plays sweden at 17.00pm, england times 21.00pm, sweden time 22.00pm is not that late, plus europe has its summer, and many people take vacations!

    another game

russia-nigeria 20.00 at rio, russia has many times zones, and the game could be watched at 3 am in moscow, while in nigeria it would be 11.00pm
they could even make that game be played at manaus, and instead of 20/.00 at 21.00, that's 22.00 brazilian time, so we would be adding 2 more hours for that game

then the game will start at 5am in russia, and at 1.00am in nigeria

so basically, games at 6, 7,8 or 9 could be a huge inconvienient for european countries especially after 8pm, and for asian countries right after 6pm(not including japan, korea, china)

the best time would be 2, 5 and 8 pm, plus since brazil would be on winter, games could be played a little earlier, and 2 is more than fine. i would really like to see a game that early like at 12.00 noon for example

This thing will cost so much money!

I suggest that they just hold one game:

    Brasil vs Uruguay at Maracana!!!

The winner will be the World Champion 2014!!!

Why bother with all the stadiums, all the other games... my idea would save lots of money, and maybe Brasil will vindicate the loss from 1950.

Then, if Brasil wins, they could hold a tie breaker in 2056 in Manilla - the thrilla in Maniila again! (just like Ali-Frazier)

In places like Manaus they better be holding them at night local time... Hell that should apply to the whole tournament.

which is exactly the reason for Brazil to build new, good stadia.

Most brazilian stadiums are quite old... you can really say we were waiting for a new World Cup in the country as an EXCUSE to spend money on stadiums again.

    :confused::confused::confused:

Manaus has 2 million people founded in the 16th or 17th century. I dont think the construction of ONE STADIUM will affect the amazon very much.

only running track stadiums will be the ones being reformed. Brand new stadiums wont have running tracks.

yeah, it would be quite funny to see lots of european tourists catching a cold in Curitiba and Porto Alegre, maybe even São Paulo. Packing their bags only with t-shirts, and then going to see night matches under 5C temperatures.

Brazil will on winter? Well, a PART of the country will be on winter. You can hardly consider anything above Minas Gerais to be on winter or summer. There you have rainy and dry season.

well, just for record, last week, Curitiba had negative temperatures. Porto Alegre also had quite cold temperatures and there was light snowfall some 100km north of Porto Alegre.

btw, regarding Porto Alegre, the official city candidate stadium is Beira Rio, but nothing is 100% sure. Inter is reforming their old stadium, while Grêmio will be building a brand new stadium, more modern, , in the north of the city.

Lets see in 2012, 2013... when Fifa inspects the stadiums in the city for the Confederations Cup... maybe they will simply choose Grêmio new stadium if they notice it fits FIFA World Cup standarts better than Inter´s crap reform.

so on cities like porto alegre and curitiba temperatures would be between 3-4 C and 10-11 C?

while in places like natal or recife the weather would be a litte warmer?

    Go here: http://weather.msn.com/

Type in city. For example, here is the weather for Natal. Currently set at Fahrenheit but can be changes easily to Celsius. Temperatures will probably be anywhere between 60 and 80 F during the days.

the lows in northeast and north cities will be around 22ºC, and the lows in Porto Alegre and Curitiba will be on average something like 7ºC (but can get as low as 0ºC)

what about novo hamburg? im just curious....

and another question... since there are going to be 12 venues, how many more cities or towns you think there would be in the next WC? im talking about those cities that are usually used for teams as their trainning campaigns, and for fans so they can get a place to sleep....

would novo hamburgo be consider as one of those towns that could get some visitors?

I'm confused by this. The Southern Hemisphere in June/July is WINTER and "SUMMER TIME +1" isn't really accurate for any SH countries.

I really cannot wait until Brazil 2014, that is why I wish it were here already but we have to wait 4 long years again until the World Cup starts back up again, and since it will be on South American soil, I am sure that it will outdo South Africa 2010 in terms of the opening ceremony and having the concert in Brazil in 2014 and I am sure they will have the "carnaval" Brazilian carnival dancers during the concert and through their opening ceremony & closing ceremony.

As well I just want to see all the games there too, that is why I want to go over to Brazil in 2014 start saving money to go over there and watch my country Ghana from my lips to God's ears
