I think his most natural role is developing into a kind of second-striker who plays in between the opposing midfield and defense. Although I know it would break with the Cruyff system, I would love for us occasionally to try a 4-4-2 next year that looked like this: Puyol--Marquez (I'd actually prefer a new CB)--Pique--Abidal --------------------------Yaya--------------------------------- --------Alves-------------Xavi------------------------Iniesta -----------------Messi-------------Eto'o-----------------
Team bus sighting! The players have left their hotel in Roma and are on their way to the airport. Expected to touch down in Barcelona at roughly 6pm local time (1pm Eastern U.S.).
"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe. " -- Frank Zappa
There remains one target left this season, 4 goals are needed to break RM's number of goals scored in a season. So my suggestion is that against DLC Barca play 11 strikers, seriously, just play 11 forwards and go for the record, who cares if the game ended 20-16 to DLC.
WHERE THE HELL WERE THEY IN THE 1ST 10MINS!!!!!! (j/k) Absolutely delighted pre-match hunch was wrong. Congratulations to Barca; a victory for football on so many levels.
Just realized, SAF said pre-match that his side were better than Real Madrid, and yet they lost by the same score as the first clásico.
I so i woke up super early today just to re watch the game. What a game last night! Visca Barca this season is truly one to remeber. 6-2 trashing of Madrid, copa de rey winners, la liga winners, and now champions! WOW.... Much credit to Pep for keeping the team together and for players stepping up when needed. Sylvinho mad props and thanks for always coming through when needed. Does anyone have a gif of eto'os goal celebration?
Congrats guys, not only did you out play Man U, you did it with style, poise, and finesse. I think Van Der Sar was man of the match, it could have easily been 4 or 5 nil. Congrats again!
Man, after the arm tapping celebration, he was just kneeling in the corner with his head in his hand. It looked like he could be almost crying. All those misses and doubts and he came through like a super-champ when it counted.
Well, three trophies to none does sort of tip the balance. But honestly, that team played the most attractive football I've seen since I've been following the sport. A shame they didn't win it.
That was me, and 27 years later this Barca team has healed my broken heart. Now if only Messi would hang shirts in the upper corners of the goal and obsessively practice hitting them, like Zico.
