    I believe so.

I think the poster falvo(?) knows him fairly well/personally.

I got an e-mail confirming what UK said about this group. They move and pass in a very unAMerican like fashion.

Any coach who can impart this quickly to his kids needs to be looked at more closely IMO. He is in the system, so he is a logical choice. Would be nice if he is the real deal, or competent, which is fine by me.

Spending some time with Chivas USA should be a prerequisite for coaching any youth national teams.

yeah they do play very continental its very nice to watch. they have two holding midfielders in powers and amobi, and i know he is very big on using the whole field. encourages the full backs to get forward a lot. and if that isnt working they always have the long ball game to two big and powerful forwards. i said in another thread i think this is the best team in the USA i have seen. partly down to the talent but from what i saw last week the way they play. good footballing brains. i would like to see matkovich stay with this group. so as they progress. he does. that is the right way to do it.

someone can correct me but one of the team i really enjoyed watching at the Dallas Cup was Chicago Magic's all-star academy team. Suposedly Mike has had his imprints on these kids at an early age. No one slows down the game. Ball moment is constant. Chicago Magic program will not be the same without him.

i saw him play the other week. he is quick and looks dangerous but the game i saw him play his end product wasn't that great and i believe he got subbed out for dion acoff who came on and created two goals in ten minutes. maybe just a bad game i haven't seen enough of him yet to make a full judgment

Jossimer Sanchez the Central Defender from PDA who is listed at 5-9?
You are comparing an end game with a Acoff?
If I'm correct he is neither quick nor dangerous. He is your standard prototypical CD with good ball skills, somewhat athletic, makes good decisions. I like him but didn't realize he was so short for a CD. We'll see how he develops.

Interesting. I can see him as a RB but never envisioned as a RMid.

It hurts looking at that Portugal team and seeing an American on the team (Alex Zahavi). And so it goes...

...and complaints about the USSF being asses over a player we never really had at any time in 3, 2, 1...

Note - Remember, you are talking about someone who has little, if any respect for the USSF over the last 10 years. If you are complain make it an educated complaint.

Doesn't hurt to see this kid play anywhere because he was never playing for us anyway.

    Yup.;)

Subotic you can complain about, but we needed everything to be handled perfectly (thanks TR) and we needed the timing of his Euro success to come a bit down the road. Can't help but think if he had not been given doubts, and he would have played a bit role for Mainz in the 2nd half of their season our odds would have increased big itmne. Oh well.

Rossi. Nope to anyone with a clue.

Ibesevic, Nunez, Soumare, et all...and the tons of other players who simply never could get citizenship. Whining over these guys is pure ignorance, immaturity and idiocy.

Castillo was a miss. Big miss. ODP evaluation at it's USSF taught finest.
"Yeah, the kid is technical, quick and reads the game well...but he isn't big enough for us". Gee, why do I hate the USSF over the last decade. I wonder. That sums it up.

Peterlin seems interesting. He has been here long enough but you can't help but feel if he makes a real impact at Everton quickly the Danes will come knocking.

I am not big on pre-emptive cappping for the most part, but if there was a case to be made this could be it. With the Gold Cup this year he could be one to ask. Still, I wouldn't blame coaches for not doing it at all.

I made the case to people several years ago that we are gonna start providing a lot of youth players for the world once our youth system gets a clue/scouts become more prevelant. Seems to be happening. IMO, it's only the beginning. We are gonna lose a lot of players. People better get used to it.

Yes, this is a great point. To counteract I think we should start deporting players and their extended families the minute they pledge allegiance to a foreign soccer crest.

Get a conservative in office who loves soccer and we have a shot at pushing this legislation through. We can deport Rossi's family retroactively!:p

We'll probably elect an African-Americna President before that happens....:(

....hey wait! We got a shot!:D

People freak out about his waaaaaaaaaaay too much. As far as I'm concerned.............in the modern history of US soccer....................we've lost two players. And those are Subotic and Castillo. Subotic wasn't born in the US, and obviously didn't feel much loyalty to the badge. Castillo wasn't given a chance by the USSF, and jumped ship. If he had waited, oh I don't know, three months, he would have been a US player. But he wanted to play for Mexico. End of that story.

If Peterlin wants to play for the US, he'll be playing for the US................if he's good enough. And nobody knows that. We just like panicking about it anyway.

We can't force people to represent the USMNT if they have multiple options. If they don't want to wear our colors for whatever reason, then so be it. People can drive themselves nuts worrying about this stuff. I'm not sitting at home stressing about whether Diskerud represents the US or Norway, because 3 months from now the next guy will come along in the same situation.

You know the best way to convince these guys to play for us is to develop a national team capable of winning major tournaments...........................that's what players want to be a part of (and yes I think Serbia and Mexico have a better chance of winning major tournaments, although Mexico's taken a bit of a slide recently :) )
