Without question, the Voyaguers Cup. V-Cup--C-Cup--W-Cup. Nation, continent, world.

Don Garber's Cup leads nowhere. Sure it's fun to take that USA Cup and spoil it for the rest of them, but that cup should only be a consolation if TFC doesn't make it to the Concachampions league. The goal should always be to win the World Championship. Wouldn't you guys like to see TFC taking on Manchester United in an official match? Come on now! That is what it is all about. I get giddy just thinking about the possibility.

That's much better than beating the New York Red Bulls in a half-empty Home Depot Center (I'm referencing the 2008 Cup for those who don't get it). Don Garber's Cup is secondary. Beating the champions of Mexico is much more important.

How many of you would've liked to take the Montreal Limp act's place in that game in Mexico earlier this year? Would've liked to see if TFC wouldn't've blown it? I would've. TFC can only get in that situation by winning the Canadian Championship first.

Not to mention going on holiday to Dubai or Japan for the CWC. That'd be pretty cool.

April games should be preparation for the V-Cup. May and June are all about the V-Cup. July should be preparation for the CCL, providing TFC makes it. Then Aug, Sep should be all about the CCL, provided that TFC makes it to the group stage.

None of us in the USA or Canada can even afford a holiday in Dubai.

BTW for the Canucks present on this board who post regularly on Voyageurs, has any effort been made to maybe buy a new silver base for the trophy kinda like what was done long ago with the Stanley cup to maybe spruce the trophy up a bit. Since it's the actual cup itself that's most important, but the base is relatively interchangeable.

Well if it's affordable, then I'll have to brush up on my Portuguese.

Strange that they're still hosting FCWC in Dubai if it's so dire there.

They should call the the NWC or NWFC for North Western Football Confederation.

    Northern Hemisphere, Western Hemisphere.

They cant be trying to make up an acronym for North America, Central America and the Caribbean. It just isnt going to jive.

Just as easy to call the whole lot North America. I mean seriously, what major geographical or cultural change occurs at the Mexican/Guatemalan border anyway?

Tell that to a Mexican or a Guatemalan and see how they take it. Or better yet, try calling a Guatemalan a Mexican.

That's not what I'm saying in the slightest.

What I'm saying is what is the basis for thinking of Mexico and Guatemala as being on two different continents. The reason why they are two different countries is clear to me.

I certainly see the differences between Canada and the USA, but to declare them to be on two different continents would be ridiculous, and it seems just as ridiculous to see the countries from Guatemala to Panama as being on a different continent from North America.

You have a point. CONCACAF was called The Football Confederation for a brief period. Don't know why they went back to CONCACAF. But they did try to simplify it, albeit for a brief time.

It's no wonder people are so split about this tourney. Is a 3 team tournament more important than winning the league? Wait. Is winning MLS cup winning the league? Who cares about the Supporter's shield? Superliga isn't for the entire continent? I mean...region? Convaluted.

    I agree with the

    Vcup>Supporter's Shield>MLS cup

but obviously for the implications of regional success and FINALLY a chance to compete world wide through the CCL qualification. I've got to add that I care far more about wins v other Canadian rivals.
