11:30 at the Ritz.. 5:30 AM Eastern.. I'll be up since I have to do school work.. finals eh.

Mexes anyone? solid player. Card accumulation could be an issue.. especially with Ramos already in the defensive line. Still, We need a starting CB to partner Pepe. Unless, you consider Garay ready.

The squad doesn't need any more CB's, just move Ramos into the center and get a new quality RB. Garay and Metz/Heinze would be the respective backups to Pepe and Ramos.

thats if you want Ramos at CB. This will be debated his entire career.

The only reason I'd do that is if we got Douglas Maicon. At this point, I don't think we'll get him.

disagree - out of the 3 i think kaka is the most realistic target - milan have already considered selling and i think they would accept another big offer - particularly as the player is heading for his late 20's and is injury prone.

ronaldo and cesc will be harder to get. we need cesc most imho.

more realistic big signings will be tevez / ribery.

The Zarra record is within his reach. Even if he is to leave Real madrid, he won't leave Spain.

Mexes = Another heinze in my opinion.

He is not going anywhere. He won't be sold and he shouldn't be sold.

I could not imagine Raul playing for another team in Spain. It would be half-understandable if he played in England or Italy, but Spain? Who would be play for? Pathetico?? Who??

I don't think he will go anywhere! I am just using the Zarra record to discredit the Manchester City's rumor. I think the record is important to him. It is imporant to Real Madrid. It is important to La Liga. He won't leave spain until the record is broken. He shouldn't leave Spain for anything.

Having said that, he needs about 30 goals to break the record. It should take 2 more seasons(15 goals each) to break it. he can score 15 next season, but the 2010-11 season might be critical. By then, he might be too old to be an effective Real Madrid player. He might not score 15 goals that season. Let's say he is 5 to 7 goals short at the end of season. What will he do? What will we do? We cannot send him to the boardroom with the record so close. We cannot use him as a sub as he might not score that amount with limited PT. It might be an option for him to play one season with a lesser club where he can start every game.

I don't. Slaughtered would be an understatement if Rafinha was starting in our defense.

Why would I do that? I've known we were linked with him for a long while now, and that Calderon allegedly already had him signed for next season, Oh, and that he is a left back.

Shocking isn't it? Someone knowing a left back you don't. What is the world coming to.

So he is not young Sergio Ramos playing on the left.. He is still young, maybe he can develop in world class defender.

All I have to say, is look at the goals against for Sporting (10 more than Numancia and *20*more than the third worst team), and their total number of ties, which should indicate their ability to defend leads or hold on for ties.

It's the worst defence in Spain by such a large margin it's not even funny.

I doubt even the world's best left back could fix a whole teams defensive display on his own though. Obviously Canella isn't even close to that level, but if there is potential there, and we bring in someone like Clichy as a starter, surely he must be better than Marcelo at LB? :p

But you can't blame him for this less than impressive stats. Their stlye of play is also something to consider..

So you think he has no future as a RM player. Too bad, would love to see as many spanish players as possible in Madrid.

Why would we want seemingly sub-par players just because they are Spanish? If he showed lots of potential, then it's worth the risk, if not, It's not.
