As far as I can tell, in the game of soccer there are three possible results: (1) A tie, (2) A tie that feels like a win, and (3) A tie that feels like a loss. When we get our one point this week, hopefully it feels good.

Surrender pronto, or we'll level Toronto.

As has probably been said, all ties feel like losses right now. Maybe only a real loss will snap us out of it.

I forgot to mention that this will be Toronto's fourth game in eleven days after they play Montreal on Wednesday, so fatigue could play a factor. Last week they used all their starters against Vancouver and are likely to do so again Wednesday.

The last ********ing thing on Earth I want is 22 hours of ********ing bus rides to see mother ********ing Chad "Best Fieldgoal Kicker in the MLS" Barrett score.

I'm tired of hiccups, excuses, bad coaching decisions and NO ONE ON THE ********ING POSTS!

    FIX IT!

I want to go on record saying that if we don't win it's Hamlett's fault. If we do win, it's not because he made good decisions or influenced the outcome in any way. If we lose it will also be because Mapp started instead of Pappa, Prideaux started instead of Segares, Rolfe started instead of Nyarko, etc... If we win no credit whatsoever should be given to the coaching staff for the lineup since they obviously should have figured things out a month ago. Unless we thrash Toronto by four goals or more I will be dissatisfied with the level of play and hark back to the glorious past when my team won every championship and even when they lost at least they played with passion.

I feel so sorry for Toronto. We will murder them!!!!

    a) their fatigue from wednesday vs montreal

    b) our hate from 5 ties in a row

    c) we're obviously much better team

The way we have been playing, even with our tenacity this could very well be our first loss. (fingers crossed I am wrong)!

I would like to go back and see the following lineup:

    ---------------------------Busch-------------------------
    ---Ward--------Soumare----------Conde--------Segares--
    ---------------------------Pause-------------------------
    -------Thorrington----------------------Pappa------------
    ---------------------------Blanco------------------------
    ----------------McBride--------------Nyarko--------------

Pending play, bring Rolfe in the 60th min after Nyarko is winded.

Get Justin some playing time, but he shouldn’t be a starter quite yet and has to prove he’s back in form.

Pause need to hold the line/distribute better on the counter.

Thorrington, I can only hope he will be able to distribute better, but he seems to be the best we have in keeping possession in the midfield (minus Blanco). ~ All in all, if he plays like he did last week, he could spring our forwards. I predict he will create a goal scoring opportunity we will capitalize on.

Blanco, he had an off night last week, I hope his touch is ‘on’ vs. Toronto.

    Doesn't Chad Barrett scare you?

He used to scare the crap out of us when he was here...especially when he had an open shot on goal...heck, alot of people had to cover thier eyes when that happened...:D

Off night? Blanco has had an off 2 years. I'm going to start calling him Blanfranchopretton.

He kills the Fire. If I was an opposing team, I'd be happy when I saw him in the line up.

Perhaps you missed the game on 5/2 vs. Seattle?

I'm pretty sure he's actually missed the last two years. Either that or he had a lobotomy.

    Nope, I saw.

You know what won't make the cover of Big Whoop Magazine?

A washed up fat Mexican footballer getting paid millions of dollars to play in a draw against an expansion team.

    It's crap, it's too expensive, it's boring, it's slow...did I mention it's crap?

I'd much rather see football played out there and lose than Blancoball.

Yes. Several. They scream at me every game, NO! TAKE BLANCO OUT! God why is he still in, are we TRYING TO LOSE?!?!

It's catching too. Lots of people hear those voices.

Oh, so they aren't soccer fans. I get it now. Next time they yell at you, you should kindly reply to them that he is our most talented player and has been our best player since his arrival. You may also want to point out that he has been better statistically than, among others, Nowak, Valderrama, and Etcheverry. If you really want to quiet those voices, try pointing out that Blanco is having his best year with the Fire right now, and that the Fire's offense is the most prolific in the league this year.

If none of that works, then your voices are so idiotic that they simply need to be ignored, so tell them to STFU.

I call them 'Blanco Blinders'. A lot of folks around these parts wear them.

Are these 'pro-Blanco Blinders' or 'anti-Blanco Blinders'? All of the former seem to have left, but there's plenty of the latter around.

Putting Rolfe into the starting lineup didn't help things much, so people are going back to blaming Blanco. Or, more likely, blaming Hamlett for not seeing that Blanco slows down our offense to the point where it cannot score goals. Oh, wait . . . the offense is scoring goals.

From my point of view, most of our problems are on the defensive end. Even ignoring the defensive errors that keep occurring, our defensive line is still far too slow at transitioning to offense when they win the ball. Sure, Segares and Ward get forward a lot, but that's not until several lateral passes have been lazily played between the defenders (Soumare is especially guilty of this) and the opposing team has been given plenty of time to organize things defensively.

I miss the days when we had the best counterattacking team in the league. Our defenders would gain possession and immediately know where to play the ball to start a fast break.

We can and should win this game, but a lot depends on which Toronto team shows up. They've looked very good at times this year, and pretty bad at others. We've been remarkably consistent, with 5 draws in a row. At this point, a tie feels just about as bad as a loss, but at least if it happens this time, it'll be on the road.

And I think it would tie a record.

Rolfe started one ********in game, and you want to take him out. Let's see Nyarko started 7 games and his stats 1 goal and 2 assists (In 607 minutes), Rolfe started 1 game and his stats 1 goal and 1 assist (In 189 minutes). From that Nyarko isn't producing, I think Hamlett should start Rolfe for the next 5 games and see what he does. If he doesn't produce any kind of offense then Hamlett could go back Nyarko if he wishes. I think Rolfe should get some more minutes before you say that Nyarko is the answer. If Nyarko had something like 4 goals and 4 assist, than OK he shouldn't be replaced, but he's not exactly tearing up is he.

Give Rolfe 5 more starts and if he doesn't produce them you could say you rather have Nyarko in the starting 11.
