I don't really see why Hiddink or Chelsea should be praised for being tactically brilliant. What is brilliant about sticking 10 men behind the ball? That is the kind of tactic employed by newly promoted sides against the top teams in every league around the world, but I don't ever recall anyone saying the managers of those teams are geniuses on par with Rinus Michels.

    1. You had one shot on target. If it weren't for Pique's handball and Abidal's foul in the box on Drogba (which would've been a red card if given as it should have been) then you can probably add at least one of those situations as leading to a goal. Then the other two penalties that should've been given, then factor in Drogba's poor finishing when 1-on-1 with Valdes, and you can see who really dominated the game. Possession is worthless. Goals are golden.

    2. Abidal has even said himself that he did catch Anelka and that by the letter of the law a red card was correct even if common sense tells us it was harsh (as it does).

Chelsea had numerous opportunities to take control of the game, not including the missed calls, which they continually failed to do. Chelsea did not seek an away goal while Barcelona did. If Chelsea had actually attacked for more than just 20 minutes over the two legs maybe things would be different. You can't rely on the ref for anything.

Awesome. Although the sight of Ruud Gullit made my stomach turn a little bit (as a Galaxy fan).

Awesomer. Pretty much nullifies their crying.

Awesomest. That is one of the coolest things I've seen. What an amazing coincidence.

No you're quite correct. One of the great things about football is when it's over, it's over. I have no beef with Barcelona and we should have taken those chances.

I have beef with the ref and with idiots who say retarded, regurgitated, media hyperbole like 'football won'.

But football did win and street thugs lost. Antifootball label is somewhat complimentary.

    1. "Goals are golden." Yes that's why Barcelona is in the final.

    2. It still does not change that you were up a man for 30 minutes at HOME with "world class players." All you had to do was not concede.

Yea, possession is useless.. if you had more of it up a man, you probably would have been in Rome.

I love how they do a voice-over with what Pep is saying. And Sylvinho must have coaching genes since he was telling Pep what substitutions to make before Pep even started to think about it.
