We won 2-1 with a goal of Acuña in the 94'! Ciudad Lorqui lost against Santa Brigida, so now we're 5th tied with Alcorcon that are 4th with one match to play.

If we end on eqaul points Alcorcon, who gets the fourth spot? What is the tie breaker?

I didn't care to research it, but based on current standings I'd say Alcorcón.

As far as I'm aware he's about 22 ...23 ...hardly a kid, and playing in Segunda B.
I'm willing to bet we are not looking at a future RM midfielder. ;)

    EDIT: He's 22

we own sarabia, even though the gunners persistent poaching is getting annoying and i am sure we will report them to uefa, if they try to do it!

The other two, i am not too sure? Pipita can answer those questions.

edit: Found a nice article about our youth players:

Francisco Román "Isco" is from Valencia's youth system and Alejandro Fernández "Álex", like Sarabia, is owned by Real Madrid.

Yeah he was hurt not long after Juande came while training with the 1st team. It seems he has quite a way to go yet, but that's to be expected when you're 17 and moving from a league in Ghana to Spain.

I saw that u17 match between Spain and Italy as well, and yes Sarabia is a Madrid player and from what I saw he was very impressive indeed. From what I hear he is one of the biggest prospects in the Madrid youth system and in all of Spain within his age bracket.

Coming back from my stag party in Avila - yes, I'm marrying in two weeks! - to enjoy a football afternoon at home.

Castilla plays at 17:00 CET against Pajara Playas (team already relegated to 3rd Div). These are the chances:
    a) If we loss we are out from promotion.
    b) If we tie, Alcorcon has to loss and Ciudad Lorqui does not win.
    c) if we win, we need that Alcorcon does not win, or Leganes losses.

Regarding the European U-17. Real Madrid has three players with Spain:
    - Sarabia, who is playing with Juvenil A and is one of the top prospect of our academy. I think he has been the best of Spain U-17s in the championship at the moment.
    - Alex Fernandez is an all-round midfielder that is playing with Juvenil B. He is the small brother of Nacho, player of RM C that won the European U-17 last year.
    - Sobrino is a forward with a lot of speed. He plays for Juvenil B and has improved a lot this year, earning the right to be with Spain U-17s.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately Castilla failed to beat Pajara. 4-1 was the final result. Acuña put us 1-1 in the second half, but he was later sent off and that was too much for us. Nonetheless, Alcorcon and Leganes did their tasks and both win their games. So promotion places for the play-offs goes to Cartagena, Lorca, Leganes and Alcorcon.

The problem with the red cards cost us our place in the play-offs. We count more than 20 this season! And I also think Lopetegui does not take the right decisions at some times - i.e. leaving Szalai and/or Acuña in the bench in some important matches.

Well, let's start to think on next season. Being in 2nd Div is not that important. The real thing is to produce some talent for the 1st team, sth we are not very prolific in the last years. Bueno and Szalai should have some loan spells at 1st Division teams. Adan should take a place in the first team if Dudek and Codina leave. And let's see how players like Anton, Schorch, Denis, Marcos Alonso, Sarabia or Alipio progress in the next years.

    Congratulations Pipitinha!

It's a shame Castilla missed out on the promotion spots.

    I have two questions.

    1. Why so many red cards? Immature/stupid acts by the players, or do we use dirty tactics, Osasuna style?

    2. What is the future of Acuna? I'm seeing on his Wikipedia page that he has a contract til 2013, and he's nearly 21. Is he good enough to make the first team?

Congrats pipitinha. I hope she is a Real Madrid fan.

Regarding acuna. Short answer is, No he isn't. He was brought to help castilla get promotion. In my opinion he is no where near good enough to play 1st team.

Thanks for all your congratulations. Of course she is a Madrid fan, it can't be in other way, and in a far future we will produce future madrid star players that will take the place of Butragueño, Raul... :D

I agree with Shay Z, Acuña is a good player, if he put in some effort he could be a first division player, but not for Real Madrid 1st team.

And the problem with the red cards definitively it is not for violent game style. Immaturity, self-control at some times, extra-nerves from the coach (yes, Lopetegui was sent off 4 times this season!), rival players with easiness to over-react, ref with really strange decisions... You know, is difficult to be Real Madrid, and more difficult in 2nd B with a rival player that wants his minute of glory against Real. But that is the kind of presion a future Madrid 1st teamer has to learn to cope with it.

    Ok a question here.

From what I seem Parejo is not that good, evident to that is Queen Park Rangers have not used him and send him back to us. (I know I will get bashed for this, but that kid is no Xavi)
Regardless, in between Palanca (talented) and Parejo which would believe is the best?

De La Red has established himself but was unfortunate due to his health problems.

To LosMerengue - Acuna is more of Salamanca quality, looking at his record with Castila he had only managed 6 goals in 3 years soo he aint that much of a Striker.

Man Parejo showed he has quality, maybe not a Xavi, but a decent new-Guti. I saw glimpses of guti-like passes against Mallorca, and dont forget Di Stefano came out and said hes the greatest thing coming out of castilla. The kid definetely has quality, its just that developing it is gonna be hard in our environment. Palanca is talented too, no idea why we never saw him in the first team. Acuna was probably bought to help castilla qualify, no way hes making it to the first team.

Palanca is a 22 year old who, after failing to make Espanyol's first team and being bought solely to help get Castilla promoted, has struggled at times in a Segunda B side.
Let us walk away from the idea he is talented (in Madrid terms) before anyone gets hurt.
Parejo is two years younger, did alright as a 19 year old in what is a very tough league (one that is probably in the top 10 leagues in Europe) and is rated very highly by those who have seen a lot of him. Whether he proves good enough to play for us is still very much open to question, but it is still a possibility. That possibility does not even begin to exist with Palanca.

It's hard to excel in Madrid right now. How much have you seen of him?

QPR did use him, but he didn't like it there, so we bailed him out and recalled him.

Of course he's no Xavi! He just turned 20!

Palanca?? You mean the guy that was bought to help Castilla gain promotion but couldn't hold his place in the team?

Acuña was bought this winter.

Listen, you will not be bashed because you think Parejo is no Xavi - that's obvious. You will be bashed however for not paying attention and posting things like above.

I think Parejo is quality player. In last 2 games he was our only player who looked to play passing game, not to do solo-actions. He played fast accurate passes around opponent's 16m (like barcelona does), in last game he had one good chance for goal (unfortunately he failed to lob goalie) and he made good pass to VDV who couldn't take ball in controll on the edge of the box (he was alone and he could have scored if he receved a ball). With good attacking play, Dani also made few nice ball recoveryes on our half and I was pretty satistifies with his preformances.
I just hope he'll get more first team playing time (like a starter in last match mabye?).
