Playoff Bus Trip- Metro at New England Nov 9th

Playoff Bus Trip- Metro at New England Nov 9th

No bullsh!t, this is a huge match and a huge bus trip to go on. Regardless of what happens in the first leg, those results can be reversed (good or bad) in the return leg at Foxboro on November 9th. Metro will go to Boston with a chance to send the Revs home for the year and advance to the conference semi-finals.

Do you want to be there, or be on your couch cursing yourself for missing it? Exactly.

    Bus trip details:

    Sunday, November 9th
    METRO- REVOLUTION, 4PM

So you get one playoffs game, one bus ride and a hell of a good time all for the low price of $ 50 for ESC members. See fee details below.

There are approx. 55 seats on the bus, first come, first served. We will only be running one bus, so the sooner you reply and get your money in the better. Please try to be a pal and sign up as soon as possible. We only have a week plus to throw the whole trip together and it makes it a lot easier on us if you sign up early.

    Trip Details:

The bus will leave from the 28th and 7th ave in Manhattan at 10 AM on Sunday, November 9th. (This schedule subject to slight modification). It will then head into Jersey and arrive at 10:20 am at the Giant's Stadium Park and Ride, near lot 14 between gates A and C. From there we will leave for New England, arriving around 3pm, about 1 hour prior to kick off for the Metro game. If all goes well we will arrive at GS at 11pm, back at NYC at about 11:30pm.

It's BYOB food and beverages. The front of the bus is pretty much the family type section, the back is the working class youth with an axe to grind section, so keep that in mind. We don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Also, let's try to keep all of the food/liquids flowing in the same direction this time. (btw, wear red, wear black, wear a jersey).

    Payment Details:

Flyers/Sign up sheets will be available at the next home match, and we can also e-mail one to you if you would like.

You can pay in person in cash at lot 16A at the playoff game on Saturday. (Please try to bring exact change, or at least something close to it).

If you would rather pay online, you can go to paypal.com and send a payment to escgear@yahoo.com. If you do this, please also send an e-mail to this address, empiresc@verizon.net to let us know that you've sent a payment. We will need from you: your name, 2003 ESC membership card number, a phone number where we can reach you and desired pick up location, either Giants Stadium or Manhattan.

    Rates:

$ 50 All tickets sign up & pay by Monday, November 2nd.

    $ 70 All tickets after November 2nd, or non-members.

If you are interested, please either reply to this post or catch up with us in the lot before Saturday's match.

We will be in lot 16A from about 1pm on, for the 5pm playoff start. If you have questions, e-mail us as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support. Extra itinerary notes below.

    Bus Itinerary:

    Bus Arrive NYC 9:30 AM
    Depart NYC 10:00 AM
    Arrive Giant's Stadium 10:20 AM
    Leave Giant's Stadium 10:30 AM
    Drive to Foxboro
Arrive Foxboro 2:30-3:00 PM (traffic depending)

Once we are in Foxboro, everyone can get off the bus and stretch. We will pick up the match tickets and distribute them to you. From there, you are on your own. Go in as early/late as you'd like, though if you go in early we'd like to have a few folks stake a claim in the away end so that we can all hang together. The seats are general admission, so we can all pile in the "Metro End", Section 120.

    Game Itinerary:
    Revolution- Metro 4:00 PM
    Metro game ends 6:00 PM
    Bus leaves 6:30 PM

Please be respectful of your fellow fans and get on the bus as soon as possible. If you dawdle in the parking lot and we have to go looking for you, it will slow the trip down and it's not fair to anyone.

    Bus Itinerary:

    Leave Foxboro about 6:30 PM
Arrive Giant's Stadium About 10:30 PM
Arrive New York City About 11:00 PM

    Notes on food:

Bring whatever you want to eat. We will likely not stop in either direction. Whatever you bring onto the bus, you take with you as garbage when you leave, as the NYC boys have to make sure the bus is clean before we get off it. Make sure you don't leave your mess for someone else to clean up. If you want to bring a cooler, make it a small one that will fit under your seat or over your head. If you bring an entire refridgerator with you, we will ask you to stow it so that we can get up and down the aisles. If you want to bring food to grill at the tailgate, fine, but we may not have time to grill. There will likely be Metro fans at the game that will let you borrow grill space if you ask politely.

It is a no smoking bus, generally speaking.

    Notes on the trip:

    1. Again, if you are paying for your ticket/bus ride on Saturday or on the day of the trip, Cash only.

    2. If you have any questions, send an e-mail to empiresc@verizon.net.

If not, see you on Saturday.

    Thank you.

I'd like to point out that the Revolution supporters are not having a bus trip to GS for game 1. So take advantage that your club loves you and sign up for the trip.

Seriously, folks, please sign up. It's likely (win or lose) the last game you'll have a chance to go to this season. We need 30 people signed up by Monday or we're going to have to cancel the trip.

So send an e-mail, let us know you're coming.

    empiresc@verizon.net

    Thanks.

They love us. We're just not having a good year in drumming up interest for trips.

I'll be attending a few Metro away games next year, in college, but this year didn't work for me.

We'd love to have you guys up here. It'd probably double the crowd.

ESC Road trip, now with free Beer!

    All-

The front office is stepping up with free beer for the road trip. Yes, you can drink one down on the Metro dime. So you now have no excuse for not going.

We've done 3 away trips this year (July 12 at NE, Sep 28th at DC, Nov 9 at NE), plus two buses for the open cup final. This will be the final relatively major ESC event of the year. Come out, meet your friends and have a good time. If you don't know us, get out from behind the computer and make some new friends. You can't describe an away match unless you've been to one, and we've never (so I'm told) done an away playoff trip. Get out there!

Seriously, the team is dragging a bit, but we always play better on the road. Yes, we lost there 5-2 just a week ago with our B team, but we also came from 3-0 on a blistering hot July day to take a 3-3 result out of the clenched jaws of a loss. Miracles can happen. We are a team that has pulled out the improbable all season. Bradley will rally the troops, and anything goes.

So, if you haven't RSVP'd for the trip, please send an e-mail to empiresc@verizon.net and sign up for the trip. You can shoot us an e-mail through Wednesday and pay cash on the day and still get in at $ 50, so get signed up.

We are going to get on the bus, drink some Metro beer and have a party in their stadium. Maybe we win, maybe we lose, but we're going to have a good time. We always do. Win or lose it will likely be the last Metro game any of us see in person this year. Do not go gentle into the long, cold, soccer-free winter without a final Metro sendoff.

so how much beer are we actually getting from the MFO? and what exactly are they getting us?

in any case, i'm going. i will start drinking as soon as we get on the bus, and this time, if I pass out please do not wake me up. after the way our team played this saturday, i'm not really expecting anything good on sunday. i hate to be pessimistic, but new england looks to be the better soccer club.

Jamison - I was a bit tipsy on sat night. I'm pretty sure asked you about a 3rd spot on the bus, and you said no problem, and to pay you at the bus pickup. I just wanted to make sure that was the deal. Lemme know.

And for everyone fighting about mathis...Whether you yell at your star players, or you give them non-stop support, you should be on this bus.

It's the last time you'll get to see metro this year - you're a true fan, give them your support...no matter what.

Yeah, there are a lot of seats open, so bring whoever you want. You can still get in at $50 if you e-mail us in advance at empiresc@verizon.net.

'Keeps7, I have a seat for you, no problem.

This oft-taken trip should give new definition to the term "MetroNorth". Enjoy our summer home in what is well the off season. Not unlike going to the Hamptons about now. Bring a sweater.

Hey PSU, you are going to have to throw an end slash ("/") in your [i] if you want those sig italics to work. Didn't they teach you that at...oh yeah....sorry.

    (only kidding).

    Anyway, on the bus:

You can still get in at $ 50, just send us an e-mail to let us know you are coming. You can pay cash on the day (remember to tell us where to pick you up).

    Thanks.

    Hey...Here's a question.

Game is on a sunday. Are we gonna get stuck paying parking since football will probably be in the stadium?

How about Red Dawn? Drinking beer and watching a movie about killing the commies. Nothing says, "ESC bus trip" like that.
