So because of the other team don't play attacking football that makes them bad? Get real, Barcelona played more of a possesion game, just like Spain plays football, thats why they suceed so much and thats why Spanish football is far superior then the English attacking football..Its more of the control of the game that matters.
AAAAAAAAaaaaarg..I am so tired of reading this; "Football won tonight". What the fuck is that supposed to mean? <O<!-- Casale Media: 728x90 (Banner) --><!-- DO NOT MODIFY -->Isn't referring a part of football as well? How can anyway say that football won last night with the kind of officating that we all saw? <OBarcelona won - football did not
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA. Haha. Ha. Hehe.
I've been through some United, Pool, and Arse forums over the last day just to see what they thought about this match and for some reason, majority of Pool and Arse were extremely happy Barca got through and really hated to see Chelsea in the final, where majority of United fans actually felt sympathy towards Chelsea and thought we deserved to win. How come? Is it b/c Arse and Pool supporters don't want to see another English team win CL? I don't know. Bias or not, I think the final b/w Chelsea and United would have been a hell of a lot more entertaining than what we will see in Rome.
Hell no Barca United is two attacking teams that are usaly really entertaining wile Chelsea is usually very boring but admittedly they do usally play efficient and get good result but that dosent make em fun to watch.
Yes, b/c last year's final was so boring, you muppet. How the ******** is it entertaining to see Barca have 70% possession of mostly passing the ball back and forth and having zero shots on goal. If you only stopped reading what papers say about Barca and stopped watching them humiliate some second rated Spanish teams and watch some proper football, you wouldn't be saying stupid shit like that. If you want pretty shit to watch, stick to synchronized swimming and forget about soccer. People are so ********ing blind when it comes to "attacking" football, it's god damn ridiculous.
I can't really disagree with that. However, how are we to blame for the fact that the ref was utterly useless?
You shouldn't be. Your team fought with 10 men and won. You did what you had to, you didn't give up and it's not like you control the ref, so you fought till the end and it payed off. I have no issues with Iniesta's goal at all and I think he is your best player by a mile.
I am w/ you Brother. Here is a song from the The Who that will help a bit. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_1RqyNdzbE]The Chelsea Blues Song of the Day[/ame]
I think a Man Utd v Chelsea match would have been more end to end. I'm willing to bet the Man Utd v Barca final is going to be a cagey affair with few chances (hopefully I'm wrong). It just makes me laugh when I see posters on all the other boards claiming this final to be some sort of attacking festival of football. Did they not see the Man Utd - Barca games last season?
Sheer jealousy from Liverpool and Arsenal. They still think that there may possibly be some situation in which United and Chelsea aren't significantly better than they are.
United will destroy Barcelona, whereas Chelsea-United would be a tough, well-fought battle of tactics and power as well as skill and ability.
DailyMirror Oliver Holt's view on the game. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTN8Say46DA"]YouTube - Oliver Holt on Chelsea v Barcelona[/ame]
Controversy aside for a moment, i just read this article describing John Terry's actions following the game... "Barca coach Pep Guardiola has praised captain John Terry for his behaviour after last night's semi-final defeat. Despite Terry's disappointment, he visited the Barcelona dressing room and shook hands with each member of their playing and coaching staff. It was an act of sportsmanship for which the Barca team and staff applauded him out of the room. " With everyone talking about what Drogba said after the match (which i understand), its too bad that nobody mentions what Terry did.
I think United fans see Chelsea as an easier game. Also, they're gonna be confident, and you always want to win it against the team that you hate more. I cant remember, but im sure a lot of people wanted to have Man U against us last year in the CL final, because the thought of beating them would be better than the thought of beating Barca. I havent commented yet, but ill go now. Many of my thoughts have been said already, but what the hell. -You CAN NOT compare the one red card to all the penalty shouts. Yes that was a bad call, but Malouda in the box in the first half, Drogba getting taken down in the second half, the two hand balls (the first one was a definite, the second was a maybe). Thats four possible penalties vs one man down for 30 min. Whats the conversion rate for penalties?? 80-90%. Ill take 3 or 4 goals if that means facing a full Barca team the whole ninty. Our finishing was terrible.. what was Drogba doing? As good as Drogba can be creating space and setting up attacks, he was a bad bad finisher last night. Frank had an off night by his standards last night. He had a bunch of plays where you think that he would do better with. I knew it when I saw it, that all these online yohoos and jackasses would have fun with it, the Ballack and Drogba videos. Some of these online dumbasses will poke fun, create some not so clever, been done 1000 times before videos of Ballack and the ref as Tom and Jerry, or the ref running away with the CL trophy, but those vidoes are just so stupid. As are the people who fault Drogba and Ballack and Terry for acting that way. Who the ******** are we to judge what they do at that point. All the work, all the toil, 90 minutes of pressing and pressing, 84 of those spent as CL finalists, and it ends the way it ends. No matter if you feel Chelsea were done wrong or not, that has got to be the worst way possible to lose a game, so yeah, your gonna be pissed. The way they handelded it wasnt worng, it was childish, it was human nature. As humans we have emotions. When they are played with like that, we come back with others. I dare any Man U or Barca or Liverpool or whatever other teams fans to say that there players wouldnt act like that. Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi, Gerrard, Torres woul ALL act that way, and you know what? There and shit wrong with that. Your pissed, you want to vent your anger. You dont wanna vent it at your self or your teammates, you vent it at the person you have no warm feelings to, the ref. And for chrisake, for every Ballack and Drogba getting that pissed, there are 10,000 fans who do the exact same thing. Im sure a lot of Chelsea fans were like that last night, and Im sure the same number of Man U or Arsenal fans who act that same way if it happened to them. You see this all the time in sports. Fans of a team who either won are arent a part of the the big game will judge how losing fans and players act, when they know damn well sure their fans and players would act the exact same way. Man U fans will criticize Drogba and Ballakck when they know what shows Rooney and Ronaldo are capable of. Liverpool fans will look down on Chelse riots after the 2008 CL final when we saw the same scenes after the 07 final. It was a great game, but a tough ending. People need to get off thier damn high horse and let the players vent, cause one day, the shoe is gonna be on the other foot, and I feel those other players and fans will find it damn hard to wear.
So what are thoughts on Stevie G then? He's the biggest cheater and diver in the league!!! But yet gets treated like a king.
TBH, BG, I think Barca are suffering on this forum more because of all the crap we've had to put up with over the last few years. If we hadn't had to listen to muppets like Patrick Barclay and other total shit-heads, (most of whom know nothing about the game and probably don't even LIKE it if truth be told), we wouldn't feel so bad. But after having heard for the past several years that we're the 'enemy of football', ((C) UEFA 2004-2009), it's a bit hard to take when we lose a game we should clearly have won only to be robbed by an official from the same fecking organisation that hasn't had a good word to say about us. Regarding Barcelona... for my part I'm glad it was Iniesta who scored the goal, (although I would rather he hadn't, obviously), because that fella has played well and didn't deserve the piss-poor defense that was behind him. He's also one of the fellas, (one of the few I might say if I was being unkind), who doesn't go to ground so easily. Well.... not QUITE so easily, anyway. I haven't got anything against Barca, personally. I don't think they're that good a side, (because they haven't got a defense as much as anything), and I tend to think they'll get taken apart by yanited. That's what I'm hoping for anyway but, as I've already admitted, that's mainly because I'm British and yanited are British. I don't necessarily expect others here to feel the same way if they're not. It also has to be said that barca fowards dive too much but against fake ronaldo that's probably not going to be too much of an issue, is it.
I know what you mean! I remember moments before just knowing they would score, screaming at the telly, NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get a grip dude. I don't hate him. I just think he liked a certain type of player who, whilst you need SOME of them, you also need some of the other sort as well. In any case I honestly think it was relevant in this game so I mentioned it. You don't agree... fine. But let's not be a dick about it, eh!
I just didnt think Mourinho would crop up in a refereeing debacle between Barca and chelsea. Forgive me if i sound short because I am !! Being goaded by all day. Still trying to come to terms with the loss.
You know, I've been reading all the usual sites all day. And main focus of the talk is on the reactions of Ballack and Drogba, when the focus of the talk should be on the ref. There's all this talk of the players getting punishment, but not one word on what if anything will happen to the ref. All we've gotten is that UEFA does not make comments about the referees. Which brings me to my point. I have mixed feeling about the final now. Part of me wants to see United destroy Barcelona. But a there's a part of me that wants to see UEFA screw over United, I want to see the same thing that happened to us, happen to them. You know why, cause of sick and tired of the media always against and they never take this sort of thing seriously. And the only way that anything will ever be done about this type of thing is for the same thing to happen to United. Can you imagine, CL final, United gets denied 4 clear cut penalties??? Oh my word, Fergie's head would explode, and war would be declared on UEFA. And lets face, replace Drogba last night with Wayne Rooney. Does anyone honestly believe that, that ref would have walked off that field without being knocked out cold by Rooney, and what about Rio? He would have kicked his head in! So this criminal status that the media give to Chelsea and it's players is getting old.
