Apparently Drew Carey will be in attendance tonight. http://chicagofiresoccer.blogspot.com/2009/05/drew-carey-travels-with-his-team-to.html
The owner of a team should be in attendance if his/her schedule allows it. So this doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
Seattle style, even.... "Tell Krist to stop acting like a dumbass in public...check... tell Dave that if he doesn't like the direction the band is headed in, he can drop the drumsticks, pick up a guitar, and start his own..... did that.... I still have that nagging feeling that I think I forgot to do something.... AW CHRIST!!! D'OH!!!" What?!? Oh, come on, at least I didn't post this one..... or that one.
shouldve gone with the Blood hound gang song.... "All in all you're just another dick with no balls..."
Starting Lineup: Busch, Ward, Conde, Soumare, Segares, Thorrington, Blanco, Pause, Pappa, McBride, Nyarko Bench: Dykstra, Prideux, Robinson, Washington, Banner, Husidic, Rolfe
I've got Direct Kick. You should be able to subscribe to mlstv feed for a season subscription with this game.
Seattle homer call on Direct Kick feed. Comments regarding Blanco appearing "gased" after a run. Guess he played a full 90 or so Wed night.
The seafoam green blends in with the color of the pitch - esp at a distance. I'm so glad we are RED. It was my fave color long before the FIRE.
So far, I am not impressed with our run of play. We are not looking as fluid as we were in previous games. OTH, defense is strong at keeping Seattle stopped up in the midfield. Any other opinions?
After the half I think Seattle will calm down and start playing much better. Lets hope we can get a goal in before the whistle.
Halftime - empty coffee cups v empty tequila shooters i.e. 0 - 0 We started to slick up on the offense as matchplay progressed. Hopefully we come out hungry in the 2nd half.
Great first 35 minutes of the game. Lacklustre 10 minutes due to sloppy giveaways and poor fundamentals and crossing. Fire are really controlling the midfield and shutting down Montero. Zakuani appears to be the only dangerous player without doing anything of real significance. Thorrington's touch seems a little off but overall a decent game, however, he can't dive in the box like that. Ward has been up and down the field but his decision making has been poor. Passing instead of shooting and shooting when he should pass. Blanco and McBride have been excellent. Nyarko blew the header from McBride but has done well otherwise. Unlucky to not be on the score sheet. Very impressed with the overall team defense. Just some better execution in the final third is all that's needed.
Abe Simpson does color commentary for Seattle! That Nyarko shot nearly gave me a heart attack. The Fire better score soon.
