    Hey Guys,

I just wanted to get a read on what we think attendance will be for tomorrow's match. I'm working to recruit byu sending out e-mails to co-workers and guys on my indoor team...so far we're only 2.

I'm really hopeful that we'll get at least 20K. What's the weather supposed to be like?

I don't know the exact temperatures, but the weather is supposed to great for the entire weekend. Maybe Lobo can shutup about the cold.

Won't matter what the weather is, not more than 12K show up. I would predict a good ESC turnout.

Yeah. It's supposed to be sunny with a few clouds and a high of about 72, so it should be about 68 or so at kickoff (per weather.com).

No reason everyone shouldn't get out to pack the house. Halloween will be over, it's an early game so you can still go out afterwards, sunny and no rain...we should really have 24K or more, but we'll likely have 18 or 19k.

If we don't break 10,000 it's time to move Metro ---

    to Harrison.

And if we break 20,00 it's still time to move!

5 pm on a Saturday afternoon -- with time for a full evening after the game or time to kick back with pizza and a movie or a good book (I'm finally reading FROM HERE TO ETERNITY. It's about waiting for a stadium in Harrison.) --- or a romantic evening for those inclined and lucky...

It doesn't get much better than that -- except for a Metro win.

See ya at the Swamp. :)

    No way Jose!

I think the warm weather is effecting everyone's judgment today. :)

On what basis does anyone think there's going to be over 10K? The "casual" MetroStar fan (someone who attends 2-3 matches a year) seems to lose interest once the summer is over.

The "casual" fan tunes out soccer once college football, the NBA and the NHL comes around.

Fixed your post. The .61 would be me.

I'm not half the man I used to be, I'm .11 better than that.

There is no reason why there shouldn't be at least 20K there. Weather will be good and the start time is early enough. I know I will be there in 101.

    My guess: 23,153

Can someone dig up the attendance numbers for all home Metro playoff matches, ever? I don't believe we've ever cracked 25k. Usually more like 10-15k, isn't it?

I’m revising my estimate downward. I’m doing this because it seems like we always get about 40% of the optimists estimates (See Exhibit A the US Open Cup 15K predictions for the US open cup – 5900 Attendance). For any of the people who claim around 20K, here is my new total with a breakdown to justify the numbers.

20 people waiting for the next Springsteen concert
    260 wearing MPF hats
    1600 casual fans
100 people who got off the Turnpike looking for a rest stop but ended up in GS parking lot instead
    400 Rabid BS posters
    3300 soccer fans
20 people who wanted the free turkey
100 Euro snobs who came out to laugh at the MLS
    100 MFO people
500 Friends and family of the players
1400 parents (with kids & horns in tow) who want to torture the rest of us after realizing that buying that horn was the worst decision ever and haven’t had a moment of silence in their house since that purchase
400 people who like to go to sporting events
2 REALLY BIG FVCKING DOGS wearing Metros scarves
    ==============================
    8202 Total

Hey don’t worry that nobody shows up at least those 2 dogs will make the stadium seem full. ;)
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
Oh yeah about the game 2-1 Metros win. Go Metros!

the attendance for the 2003 season was ridiculous please bring some doubleheaders next year so we can expose the many soccer fans that are out there and just not coming out to see this team, well i can't blame them, hopefully our team can win at home next year.

They stayed away from the game to focus like the starters did last week.

Or they were busy basting their new turkey they received curtesy of MPF and MFO. But the good news is they were all watching the game on the tele so the ratings must be through the roof!!
