Word - this is 8 different kinds of awesome. It's better even than espn360.com.

How is the new FSC broadband?

Brilliant if you aren't looking for the game on the SECOND broadband channel, which doesn't appear to be available.

How can they do something like that? I'm missing a massive game because they've decided to trot out something new in the tailend of the season.

They've had the second channel in their listings all week, why do that if they can't get it sorted?

I keep getting a pop up box in the middle of the screen saying "We are sorry but there is currently a problem. Please try again later." while watching the Arsenal v. Chelsea match. The audio and video are still playing though.

And now I can't even get the site to load before I get that message. They picked a terrible time to roll this out. Why not wait until a day that didn't include an FA Cup semi?

Yeah, it looks better when it works, except for some of the villa game and all of the FA Cup game so far I have gotten the "there is currently a problem" message.

And it blows that the broadband 2 games aren't available now, either.

Oh, well - I really wanted to see Arsenal - Chelsea, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

They will be getting a strongly worded email from me about this. I pay the $150 a year for the broadband specifically for games like this and can at times go weeks without watching Setanta. Things like this will certainly make me rethink that purchase next season.

Don't worry. They can't read e-mails. I tried. They are incapable. They respond with some dribble to even the most basic questions. I was trying to find out since Setanta bought the US rights to Russian Premier League if they will be showing it on broadband, and they couldn't grasp the question.

Trying to watch the Russian League while in Santa Monica? Ouch - that's rough.

Wow Setanta what a failure today. Service stops during the big game.

The more I see of the new Setanta i the less impressed I am. I mean I know streaming video quality is always going to be an issue. But really the stream is bigger which is better, but the video quality is still pretty bad.

I wonder if they are rolling it out now with the hopes that come the beginning of next season they have worked out the problems and perhaps improved video quality. I know...its a pipedream.

There surely must have been enough summer things and preseason matches available in June and July that they could have done it then.

Geez, failing that, they could have at least tried it in the mid-week, but they popped this thing on a Saturday with a key relegation battle on Broadband 2 and an FA Cup semifinal on the main channel. And they did it with no warning, no notification.

One other technical point - I don't like searchlight, even though it does bring some improvement in video quality. On the old system, if something wasn't working, I could check the feed statistics to see if it was a problem with my ISP. I can't do that now, and even when I dropped down to "normal" quality, the video was still stalling at times.

I spoke too soon in my praise. Like ESPN360 - doesn't look like Setanta-i will work on 64 bit Vista (without a lot of finagling - that I'm not comfortable with on my work PC). Oh well, I need Fios or DirecTV asap (stupid condo building!)

I hope they add back the broadband 2 channel - I got used to following three 10am games at once on Saturdays. You'd think they'd have waited til the off-season to roll out this major upgrade.

Is it just me, or is the site still down? Even after they sent out that new site unveiling email today?

Have you been able to log in previously with the same computer? Does the site give you an error message?

I can't find any information on what operating system and specs they support. Could be part of the problem.

It seems to be working at present. Showing a re-air of Arsenal-Chelsea.
The schedule within Setanta-i isn't complete, but the one on their main site still shows games as being on broadband 2 the next two weeks.

I'm still struggling to get the picture to maintain proper speed at home, even on normal quality, and still irked they did this when they did. I've also yet to get any response from my Saturday morning e-mail.

Estimated reply time to the e-mail - Wed morning at the earliest based on my experience.

Expect a reply with a copy and pasted section out of the FAQ.

It just gets worse. Can't get to the Liverpool v. Arsenal match at present. It doesn't seem to be available somehow.

Thought I might instead spend my lunch hour by going back and watching the Sunderland v Hull match from the weekend. At one point, the archive had it available. It still shows there, but now I am told "This content is not available in your region." What the ...

    Arrgh.
