perhaps chad should start wearing the head gear as Ross Paule did and Petr Cech still does. Any chance that could help? certainly couldn't hurt.

About a third of the way in last season, I got in a little pissing match with someone who tried to tell me Chad Marshall wasn't a very good defender. I said that was so ridiculous that he had lost his right to his opininon.

I refer now to his Defender of the Year award.

Chad Marshall SHOULD have won Rookie of the Year (nothing against Dempsey, but Chad was robbed). He's had looks at the national team, and would have had more if not for injury. He only really had one season that I would call "shaky", and he didn't look any worse than anyone else on that really bad team. And he missed almost an entire season with a concussion. Other than that, I don't see what the hell anyone could truly be looking at and think he's "mediocre at best". If you truly think that, it's hard for me to take you seriously.

the reason I posted it is because it has been said over and over that if Chad gets one more concussion hes done for. Last night in Mitchell's Blog it was revealed Chad has a concussion and thats the reason he was out. So....He got the concussion, hes done....what next.

The thread is intended to get people to think and talk about a solution to a rather large problem in the back line. So far no solution has been offered except try Iro and Brunner...Thats not a very good solution.

Ill ask again, If he is out for good...Do we eat that salary?

All that being said...I HOPE TO GOD ABOVE HE IS FINE AND PLAYS AGAINST CHICAGO AND THE REST OF THE SEASON...WE NEED HIM BAD.

No chance it could help. Not even football helmets can protect you from a sudden blow to the head that causes your brain to slosh around inside your skull the same way an unseatbelted person does in a car when impacts a bridge abutment.

And yes, they can be more dangerous since they have a tendency to give players a "superman" effect where they think they have protection against a reinjury, but really don't.

And to see the effects of a re-injury, take a look at Twellman if you've forgotten Ross.

Its really misleading to make a thread title saying "So Chad's Done..." because it sounds like it is in reference to an actual news story. It would be the same as if I said "So GBS is retired..." and then talk about what ifs in the thread. If you had said "What if Chad is Done?" because that implies a hypothetical, but the way it was worded was as if it is a FACT that he is done, not a HYPOTHETICAL.

I hope Chad reads this board because it will be news to him...

From today's Crew Review in the Dispatch:

Marshall's 2007 season was ended by multiple concussions, and his career once was thought to be in jeopardy because of post-concussion symptoms. He said he was unaware his injury officially had changed from "facial contusion" to "concussion." "I haven't gone through any tests," he said. "We don't really know anything yet. I can talk to some expert, but they only know as much as I do. I practiced one day and felt all right but had some things going on afterward. I didn't have a headache (Saturday), but why risk it if we have a week off now?"

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Chad pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh come on! What the hell else were you going to do with them? They're completely useless. And anyone that's ever had one will back me up on that. Now, had you had 7 hot 28-year-olds (not 28 hot 7-year-olds, bradd), you'd have committed a travesty.
