Here's the thing: I get the games, they are on channels 470 through 474, maybe higher. But, they do not show up in my guide, and I can't scroll through the channels once tuned to one of them by the channel up/down buttons. This is my first few months with DirecTV and my first time purchasing a sports package like Direct Kick... so, I'm ignorant about what I should be seeing. I contacted DirecTV about the problem and they wrote back that they had not received a schedule from Direct Kick, which I find preposterous and resembles a canned response for when a game package is still in pre-season. Any answers from old hands at this?
I would try unplugging the receiver, leaving it off for about 5-10 minutes and then letting it re-boot. All my DirectKick games show up correctly. I've also had occasional channel and program guide issues, but luckily that's always done the trick.
Figured out my user error. I had set up a custom listing of channels to use in my guide. By setting that up, the MLS additions to my channel lineup were not included. I changed the listing for the guide for favorite channels to "Channels I get" and there the MLS Direct Kick games were! Thanks to all who considered what might be going on here. Sorry that I was dealing with my own operating errors.
Does anyone know when the Direct Kick package will be prorated on DirecTV? I hope they do not wait until the All Star game to do it.
I called and they are not prorating it - at least right now. They are offering 4 payments of $19.75 and that promo runs until July 23.... and she said she doesnt know if that means they will pro-rate it then or what. Once you sign up for the package you cant cancel it and get a refund or anything like that.
