I've written in to make suggestions, but always receive a BS form letter response so I thought maybe a poll here would help. This poll is directed towards people who have paid the subscription cost for full match video on MLSNet.com I've subscribed to this service for years now, and it has hardly changed. I still need to delete all my cookies all the time and lose setting for all the sites I visit regularly in order to log in. This, to me is a broken site and hasn't improved since it began. Now this year, they add video highlight links to the right of the video, basically spoiling the whole game by telling you who scores and when, destroying my enjoyment of watching the game. I already have to navigate the site with selective blindness in order to get to the full match videos without seeing any spoilers... now, am I alone in this, or does it annoy the crap out of other people as well?
I know what your saying. Had this happen to the Crew/TFC game. Wasn't expecting to see that to the right of the player. Now I just have to click the tab next to it to avoid having the game spoiled. Not cool, but for the price I still think it is a heck of a deal and overall I am satisfied with the product.
I just wish they'd have a 'no spoilers' page or something with direct links to the videos as an alternative link for me to use to go there. The problem is they try to mix in the highlight videos with the full match videos and deliver them with the same interface, but I just find it incredibly aggravating. Edit: And you know what else is somewhat amusing/sad to me... the form letters they reply with when you e-mail them are signed: That's not even their web site. :/ You're right... If they just made the default tab the match center instead of the highlights, that would be a big improvement, but that whole page is full of results too... I'd threaten to cancel my subscription and demand my money back, but I do find it convenient when it isn't driving me mad.
Agreed. I can't pay for all the matches, but I do try to see the highlights without seeing the scores. I've already had at least two games ruined for me by forgetting that they put the spoilers on the right of the video pop-up. Plus I had to bookmark the Video/Audio page to make sure I don't see any scores beforehand.
I don't know very much about programming or the such, but how big of a deal is it to change the setup of the player? Is it a full redesign or a simple edit? Depending on how much mlsnet has to commit to fixing the problem, will help or hurt our chances of getting it changed.
I also sent a complaint 2 or so weeks ago about the set-up. I also received a form letter thanking me for my feedback without any direct response to the issue. I hope they're looking at modifying it, but I don't think it's likely. Just have to keep putting my hands over certain parts of the screen and making the video full screen as soon as possible. I think it's also prudent that when going to the Sights page, one should avoid looking at the lower half of the screen. I found out about Robbie Findley's hat trick before seeing the highlights...
Well, the boilerplate email I got was: MLB.com [sic] appreciates your suggestions and comments and will direct them to the appropriate person. Thanks again for taking the time to share this with us. ?!?!
We have to keep emailing them and calling them to get this fixed. It will drive us insane if it stays like this all season. I don't care if it is an awesome deal. It still sucks.
I emailed elsewhere at MLS HQ and actually got a nice response that said they are "working on a solution to the issue you raised about the highlight videos and should have something soon." So there's hope!
That can be accomplished any number of ways without having the events of the match displayed adjacent to the video as you watch.
Dangit, what are we going to gripe about now? Oh yeah: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=998272
the system ********s with my computer and a few of my friends also. none of us watch matches through MLSnet because of how terrible the viewing experience is and furthermore, as stated in the original post, the cookies thing is a p.a.i.n.i.n.t.h.e.a.s.s.
