Thats why Riquelme was so important. Argentina is playing pretty sloppy especially in defence.

Yes, this defence looks horrible. Was that Heinze that left the 3rd goal scorer WIDE open? Heinze was wide open himself, not covering anybody, just standing and watching the play.

No defense, nada. I don`t care if they have God as a forward, that won`t win any games.

Defense!!! the worst line-up ive seen yet! and i dont even understand why Lucho got the start over Di Maria! and Maxi is a bit lost but i cant blame him playing out of position!

Wow, I never thought I would say that Argentina are lucky to be down only 3-1. Complete and utter breakdown of the midfield. As a result, a suspect defense has been put to the sword. So long Papa??? Perhaps.

Well, I hope these are just the growing pains.

Christ, I'm glad I can't actually see the game, it sounds horrendous, oh well lets hope Maradona gives them a bollocking at half time and we get a draw.

That looked more like Papa's area to me.

Lets hope Maradona stops favoring some players like Papa, Lucho who never had a good game for the NT?

Preaching to the choir, brother. But if not Riquelme, someone. Wanting to play the fast, uptempo style may be a bit difficult to execute at times.

This is exactly what we have all been fearing... Heinze needs to go as we've been saying for years. Papa is useless as well. I don't even know what changes can be made at the half to try and salvage a point. If Brazil and Uruguay win tonight we are in a world of trouble and could be looking at a play off with concacaf... Remember we still have to go to Quito so the altitude will hurt us again... and we must visit Montevideo which will not be easy either.

I thought Papa was covering the guy with the ball that made the cross? It is hard to tell from the stream who is who.

Papa was covering the guy with the ball, Heinze was behind him, Zanetti was the last player and the guy who scored had no one guarding him

Hmmm....Aren't you in support of his choice of Papa? Forgive me if I'm wrong about that. But seriously, as bad as the defense looked, I can't pin it all on them. Not by a long shot.

Carrizzo was brave (though not so good on the 2nd goal) and we still concede 3 goals.

I hope Messi & Tevez can finish on the 2 opportunities they are likely to get in the 2nd half, or else it might get ugly. Well, let me not say that just yet. I'm sure Diego will make adjustments.

Well boys and here it is. First of we can't blame the altitude for the first 30 minutes now can we, we can only be honest and say we played like crap and are a loooooooong way away for being ready for 2010. Maxi today has been a total waste, Messi is not getting the ball enough, Lucho well need I ay more, our defence is crap and Mascherano is not closing down players quickly enough. To be honest Diego would have done better to stick with the formation he had against Venezeula at least thusly we would give Bolivia something to think about, as is I see no real bite to any of our attacks and our counters are pathetic attempts as well.
Carizzo when will you learn to stay closer to your line????:confused:
Why play with a back four if we are not going to pull the game wider????
Why not move Messi in the center and leave Tevez on the left at least this way we do have more than just Gago trying to create something??
A total waste of 45 minutes and a huge let down, I knew this one was going to be tough but this is not a team that wants to win it all in 2010, sorry.

That was really bad match so far, ofcourse there is only one Team playing and that is Boliva, Argentina are lucky that they are only 1-3, it could have been easily halfdozen, every time Boliva has ball they look leathal, Midfiled is really looking Bad only Gago has looked good. Defence less said the better.

Weell this is a true test of character for this team, if they have aspriations to win WorldCup they have to show the character and it also brings in How Maradona performs as a coach. All the best, my changes for teh half will be bring in De Maria or cambiasso for Lucho, looks really bad, Defence doesnt give confidence, but will stick with them for the time being. Lets hope Argentina turn up for the match

the passing and sets in the first half were about the ugliest I've seen from the Albicelestes in a long time... the team doesn't seem focused..

Cambiaso was not called up, yet Veron was, and I think I will turn this off if he comes in. Lisandro, Di Maria, Kun, and Montenegro are the attacking options on the bench

Gago yes , Carrizo to me did what he should have done and also then did some mistakes , he i think was at fault for the second goal and he cam of his line too often wich led to bolivia trying many scary long shots.
I say we better tie this and dig deep to get at least a point or we just don't have the character we thoguht we had.:(

Saying Gago was one of our 2 best players is kinda like saying that Pneumonia is better than AIDS. If part of his job was to playmake, then he was horrible. In addition, he hasn't exactly been fort Knox on the defensive end. Heinze may have been poor but he's actually been our least bad defender. Demi has been absent and responsible for the first goal with a bad clearance. Zanetti caused the penal. Papa looks lost and out of position.
