Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Dude sure does like to choke a bitch.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Bernardo's Blog Still no hard numbers and I don't expect there to be until the player's organization releases its updated salary list, but Dom confirms that the Dynamo do have the ability to sign another player in addition to Akinbiyi. That said, there's no mention as to whether the Dynamo have enough money after this to sign a DP.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Just thought you may be interested in some coments about Ade from our messageboard. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2126477600
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Thanks. If what's read is true, he sounds like he has the personality to fit in perfectly with the Dynamo. If there's one thing that Dom (our manager) values its commitment and work rate. I still question how he'll adapt to the play here but I think MLS play and Championship play have enough similarities that he could be useful. The reaction here to Ade is probably somewhat of a result of the fact that there have been various rumors circling around regarding a potential designated player (the same rule that allowed Beckham to come to LA). Oh and good luck in the race for promotion. I was able to watch a number of Burnley's Carling Cup games and was impressed with their quality when they ran through those Prem teams.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms I doubt very much if he would last 90 minutes in the heat over there (I was in Houston last year and found it unbearable at times), but I think he would be best utilised as a sub, coming on for the last half hour. Thanks for the best wishes on our promotion push. It's looking good for the play-offs at the moment and if we make it, our record in cup games is excellent so I think we could make it to the Premier League. Unfortunately, the gap between the top two leagues is so vast it's very likely we would be immediately relegated. However we would receive a minimum of £30m for the season, so it would be worth it.

Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_5103318,00.html Looks like its not too far off from being completed, or so they reckon over here.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms The speed of play and passing in MLS is sometimes slower, sometimes about the same as the Championship, depends on the team. Lots more one-touch passing, and better quality passing in the Championship -- at least from the games I've seen. That said, there have been plenty of individual games, especially with teams like the Dynamo, Chicago, San Jose, and lately Seattle, where the speed of play and quality of passing have been quite nice.

Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms i'm exicted/curious. let's see what this guy can do.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms I'm more curious than anything else. He's a Dynamo player now so I'll get behind him. Might I take this time to remind everyone that it might take him a month or so to get acclimated to the league and his team mates. Of course, the people that already realize this already know this and won't bash the guy if he doesn't score in his first game and the people who don't realize this yet, won't ever realize it and will probably make some stupid remark that belongs in the complaint thread.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Once he signs a contract and puts on the orange jersey, he become one of us. Now it is our job to welcome him to Houston and get behind him.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Absolutely. Ngwenya and Boswell had slow starts and look how they turned out.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Hi Everyone, Good luck to Ade and thanks for the memories. Despite his age you are getting a big, strong striker, who still has a bit of pace about him. When he gives his all, he will chase the ball and close down opponentss, usually keeping all the opposing back four on their toes. He doesn't have the deftest touch on the ball (as I'm sure you'll see!). It's been a joke over that he could trap a ball further than I can volley one. He has been part of something remarkable for Burnley over the last few months, as the club enjoyed a run to the Carling Cup semi final, losing in extra time to Spurs in a heartbreaking finish. on the way to that game, Ade scored what's going to be his last goal for the Clarets, against Chelsea. Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Me too, considering how well loved he is on his previous team. But then again, when was the last time we got a new player that didn't come with dire warnings of doom and failure. That bit has me a little confused... ...some of those were warranted, but Ngwenya, Boswell and Kamara were good pickups. Daggers was okay until his off field life got in the way. I've spent a few minutes looking at the Burnley forums, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes off as yet anther fan favorite. The thought of having Kamara & Akinbiyi on the field at the same time during a Ching call-up should scare some central defenders to death.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms I now present our '09 formation including Akinbiyi!
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms I'm not sure if I'm posting this right, but check out this image of Ade from the Original Winger!! Ade = Incredible Hulk?
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms He's a toothpick compared to His Holiness:
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Either he likes to take his shirt off a lot or I've seen video of this same goal... Of course if I looked like that I might take my shirt off more often too.

Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms Fantastic! Don't worry Sean, we'll welcome Ade with open arms.
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms That's the kind of thing that I keep reading that makes me excited about this. He sounds like an excellent fit. (Of course, some of us here probably wrote similar letters to where Franco Caraccio went after Houston. )
Re: Ade Akinbiyi Thread - Glenn Davis Reports Dynamo Agree to Terms This mo'fo' is built like a brick shithouse! I guess he ate his Wheaties when growin' up. If he still has an obedient first touch and likes to get stuck in he will love playing in MLS with his new Houston buddies. Wonderful read from this BFC supporter Sean. Who doesn't like to witness the grit and determination from a professional player in our modern times that really has a big heart and plays for the shirt over the cash. Very cool. This pic makes me laugh cuz it looks like Craig is taking off from the stretcher crew as they attend to the ref that made the mistake of calling an errant handball on him. ~ ~ ~ ...really it's from the '06 Cup Final which are great memories for all of us, right Rey.
