Eh...it's a bit like kicking a cockroach onto its back and watching the flailing ensue.

Hey lads, thanks for a great game. It was very scary at first when the Crew was punishing TFC. But the 2nd half showed us some spirit. Anyways the Nordecke was very loud yesterday which is great at times we can hear "We can't hear you" LOL which was nice. Happy to see your supporters group growing. Sad about the crowd attendance.

I was in section 116 as I am part of a TFC supporters group. I just would like to say sorry for all the losers that made the trip down. There were a few problems that we incountered including someone throwing a steel barrier that divide's the steps from 116-117 down to the main field level. I was pissed but not shocked. There was very little security which I thought would have been ready from knowing what happened last year.

I am not going to bash America nor do I like those who bash Canada but there are a**holes on both sides. It belongs to all groups in every city and country around the world. I enjoyed most of the time in Columbus and have booked a room again for July. I respect your city and your fans, well the mature ones anyways. Again A**holes on both sides. I talked to a bunch of crew fans after the game and all was happy conversations.

    Cheers

I want to make sure I have this correct. A Toronto fan, and I assume it was a Toronto fan since you guys bought all of the seats down there, tears up a piece of handrail and throws it on to field level. This happens and you're "pissed" but not "shocked?" You're not shocked that someone who is a Toronto FC fan rips out some handrail and throws it? Holy shit, man. I know we as a team have some crazy asshole fans - everyone does - but I would be stunned to see one of my fellow Crew fans pull such a ridiculous stunt. I would be disappointed if that happened and fellow Crew fans nearby didn't beat the hell out of the guy.

The fact that you're not shocked, in my opinion, speaks volumes about the overall type of fan that makes Toronto FC road trips. That's astounding. If I misunderstood what you wrote then I apologize, but my goodness.

I was pissed but not shocked because this guy was drunk big time and the barrier was lose and just came out of the socket. He most likely had the intention of starting some shit from the start. We had fans go after him but he just ran to another section.

To think that this is the overall TFC supporters would be an overkill. We had over 1000 fans in Crew Stadium but some trouble made the news. Trouble that was started from both sides. Look I am not trying to say I am right and thats it. But your taking a situation and blaming it on a whole bunch of people.
The flares was not a problem, the trowing objects on the field was stupid and happened on both Crew and TFC supporters. The fights were started by members on both sides. The security should have kept us in the stands for 20 minutes or so just like in DC and KC.

Climb down off that cross, Dudley. I think you took that post personally, when it wasn't intended to be. 'Course once you did that, you let loose with the silly hyperbole.

Take a deep breath and use your noodle. You might be among the first TFC BigSoccer residents to do so.

    You're teetering on regressing here.

FF isn't saying that at all. It's just not in the normal course of behavior ANYWHERE to start ripping apart pieces of a building. Really.

We have assholes in our midst. We have complete f**king assholes in fact. And I would still be shocked if they ripped apart some of a stadium. Could I imagine it happening? Possibly, but it'd be shocking. I'd be shocked.

I'm pretty sure that's all he was saying. Please don't turn into another TFC troll....you actually seemed to "get it" with your first post.

I was at the game as well and the actions of some of the TFC fans during the game were pretty poor, I wasn't entirely sure what happened afterward as it seemed like there was some guys from both sides trying to stir **** up.

As for the game itself, I have to admit that Schellotto is some player to see live, the guile he displays at times is something else and a class above what you usually see in the MLS. The time when he fooled the 2 TFC defenders without even touching the ball, that's the kind of thing I appreciate even against my team. Marshall was pretty dominant as well although he could have let Barrett get a few shots and it wouldn't have mattered given his form. I'm kind of curious as to what you thought of Vitti, he never really threatened on goal aside from that one that got called for offside but I thought he looked pretty good otherwise.

I thought that Vitti got himself into some dangerous positions, but that no one was really able to get him the ball in those positions. Whether these positions were poorly timed (i.e. no possible way to get him the ball), or that the rest of the buildup was lacking is tough to call, but his is one of the few names I recall thinking "oh sh!t, watch out."

And what you say about Schelotto brings to mind his first season with us. For the most part we were terrible, especially at first, but it seemed that our other players were watching him and reacting more than understanding what he was up to. From a fan's perspective it was magical to watch him work out there, even if the rest of the team were crap.

I had mentioned previously that I was bringing a friend from Kenya to this match. Afterwards he mentioned that he was impressed by the quality of play, asked why Marshall wasn't with the US Nats (to which I had no answer), remarked about the stadium, and asked when we were coming back. Overall, I think he had a great time (he even bought a cap at the game)

This really sucks because I thought Gino was one of our best players yesterday. He looked really really down after the game.

That move he made on the TFC player right in front of the Nordecke after the goal was absolutely spectacular.

Oh yeah, that play was really scrappy. From where I was, I couldn't see anything after they went down, but then when I saw that he got the ball I couldn't believe it. After watching the tape at home, I couldn't believe it.

But yeah, I feel bad for him. The guy almost never makes mistakes and had a great game, it sucks that that happened. There's a lot of unfortunate stuff about that play, such as that it actually wouldn't have gone in if Hesmer hadn't tried to stop it. Ugh.

    1. Road flares are illegal in Ohio when used for purposes other than their intent, and they're forbidden from the stadium, which lies on state property.
    2. The flares were thrown. How is that not a problem?

    Agreed.

All that hard work and pumbaa beats the two stick display with a little rubber cement, printer paper, and ingenuity. :D

It looks like the girl, Kev, and especially Bradd are all a little miffed.
