I'll be there around 2:30 or so. I'm bringing a first timer and I feel this will be the perfect arrival time for her to get the full gameday experience. I'm going to be too excited to sleep tonight.
Up out of bed like a flash, body nervously shakes in excitement, eyes wide, smile wider......ITS GAMEDAY BOYS AND GIRLS and everything is right in the world again.
my group had cheeseburgers. so what? oh, i'll tell you what. the ground beef was from my friend's friend's family farm. they bought one cow years ago... just one. corn fed, raised right... no hormones or any of that questionable stuff. and that one cow was good. very good.
I am so disappointed that I didn't get to try the Bacon Explosion although the kabobs that we made turned out really well. On the plus side, Carly said she would make the Bacon Explosion for me some time. She's a keeper!
Just got home. And yes, I smell wonderful. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Boulevard keg last night . We raised around $500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Nice job everyone. And also a thank you for being patient with me. For once I was drunk, I was awful a remembering who paid and counting change. We pretty much killed the keg before the game started. When we got back out to the car, I think we maybe got four beers out of it before it started spitting. So, that makes 3 kegs (in all) gone before the game. That's roughly 450 beers. Cheers.
Two kegs done by 6:30. That's a new record. I'm sorry if you didn't get enough beer, I really thought I would have enough. I planned on finishing it today while watching basketball.
We didn't think we'd run out that fast. Tailgate was out of food after 60 minutes and the bacon explosion was gone after 45. I hope everyone enjoyed it (I never got to try it). We may do it again later in the season if enough people come up to us at the games and request it.
It was certainly very good the bit I had, my parents liked it too, as did everyone else I spoke with.
I had my heart set on gettn some of the bacon explosion but unfortunately my duties as the play by play and color commentator did not allow me to go for it. Probably the best though, my heart might has exploded right then and there. Please, please, please have the bacon explosion again!
The two guys I brought along made me an hour and fifteen minutes late... I ended up getting there at 6:40ish, and everything was gone. I was mad at my friends and very, very hungry.
I thought it was great - as did the guys from my work he came to the game (and even the one friend of mine who could only come to the tailgate...and showed up mostly for the explosion). I'd definitely vote to have this again.
I had one bite of the bacon explosion and felt like I tasted it for the next 4 hours. It was pretty good. Did AG ever do a calorie count or anything on it?
Oh please don't do that...if I worried about calories at the tailgate I'd never enjoy another one. That's what the rest of the week is for.
With something like this though, part of the appeal would be some ludicrous number like 35,000 calories.
