Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion how about The Press Box http://pressboxsports.com/ 222 S. Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa, FL 813-876-3528
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion At our next viewing party i will be collecting everyones name and email address and getting everyones suggestions on supporter group names. So everyone make sure you have a name when you come to the next viewing party.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion I live in Pinellas County...and I would recommend the Red Lion Pub in Indian Rocks Beach and/or the Rose & Crown in Largo. All great places to watch the games. MacDinton's is cool...but It's a 'fake' pub type feel for me. I watched the 2004 Euro there, and I wasn't impressed. I also watched the Spain-USA friendly there and I got crap for being a Spain supporter. Either way i would like to meet more US soccer fans and Rowdie fans as well.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion i 2nd FNovoa i'm in Tarpon Springs and have been to both Red Lion and Rose & Crown. I'm a Rangers fan and they know how to host soccer fans.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Does it have to be a traditional UK style 'pub' that we all gather in to watch games? Hooters, Winghouse, Beef's, etc... all work for me. Maybe even Courtside Grill? Lots of soccer folks there for the last world cup and work day time US friendly matches http://courtsidegrill.com/gallery.html If you like crab... all you can eat on Wed nights.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion No its doesn't have to be a UK style pub. Hooters, beef's all work. I like wing house better than hooters but whatever workers. That courtside place looks pretty nice.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Looks like there is an 'official' Sam's Army View Party. http://sams-army.com/index.php?Mlist=event&Mid=128 Tampa Bay Join Sam's Army journalist David Rice at: MacDinton’s Irish Pub in South Tampa. If you can make it, email David at davidrice83@gmail.com Or... if you are a geek like me... just use the contact form http://www.sams-army.com/index.php?Mlist=email&Author_id=68 With that said... I'll be at MacD's.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Well, if thats the official sam's army viewing party then i guess thats where we will meet. Start spreading the word that the viewing party will be at McDinton's.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion I might head out there...If I do..I'll be wearing my spain jersey and my buddy will be wearing his USA jersey. I'm Frank and he's Jake
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Hope the viewing party went well for you guys! The Orlando party went great, and we had a special visitor from your group, David Dwyer. Thanks for coming, David. We hope to continue the great relationship between the two supporters groups!
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion I posted there last week but they have now wiped out the old discussions and the only thing posted there now is a new "welcome" message. It will take some time to build up discussions there; frankly I don't like posting at a site just to see everything I post wiped out. If I post there again it will only be to point new users to come over here. Our discussions group so far is still far too small to be spread out over two different sites.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion I think bigsoccer is better and one forum is more than enough for me, although I also post on uslfans.com
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion We just wanted to take a moment to update everyone about the upcoming party on April 1st for the US National team qualifier versus Trinidad & Tobago. We have gotten quite a few replies already and have decided to hold the party at MacDinton's Irish Pub at 405 S. Howard Ave in the Hyde Park area of Tampa. MacDinton's is a great pub full of loyal soccer supporters and will be a great atmosphere, and chance to meet other Rowdies supporters. You can check out their website at www.MacDintons.com. We hope you can all make it out, we're going to have a great time and have some fun stuff for everyone. Please remember to RSVP to asuggs@tbrowdies.com and don't forget the contest from the last email to win yourself a Rowdies Scarf!
Ralph's Army - The Mob I gave this badge idea a new kick-in-the-grass twist, and "RALPH'S ARMY - THE MOB" wording. Hope you all like it!
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Thats pretty nice. As time goes along we will figure out the logo and name. We tried a few months ago but didnt get alot of support. I think the more viewing parties and the closer we get to our season the more people will want to participate. For right now we just need to concentrate on getting more soccer fans to support the group.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Ah the days of running polls that no one voted in. I don't miss them at all.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Supporters Club discussion Seems like the boards have been a bit more active as of late. Maybe that will translate into warm bodies at the events.
Check this blog out https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/blog.php?b=4353 Please tell me that we will have a cooler group than this. That is some scary stuff.
No one that inarticulate should be allowed to represent the sport on TV. I could only watch half the clip; it was that bad. How sad is it that they sounded drunk that early in the morning? They just seemed to give soccer supporters groups a bad name. Luckily that won't likely make the national sports media rounds.
Wow, that was so stupid. They really make supporter groups look bad. We will not look like that. If we do i will punch every single one of us, including myself, right square in the face.
They didn't sound drunk (drunk would have been preferred and fine in my book even in the AM) just like dorks. I give the TV station major kudos for giving the Whitecaps love, but come on. Lenarduzzi looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. I am going to hold you to that Dave. And if anyone shows up with a muppet, how about a kick in the face?
thats pretty funny, but legendary in its own way. like napoleon dynamite. ralph looks like the muppet.
