My wife is Irish. And she speaks some Irish. We go to Ireland most every year. Anyone ever been to the Aran Islands? There are maybe, on a good day, a couple of pubs there. The main one is called 'The American Bar'. I like a beer, but I've never been so drunk in all my life. I swear I'm not making this up.
the Aran Islands are pretty incredible. I was there in 94. The Irish have legendary hospitality and bottomless capacities for alcohol.
Bonji, let us know how it went. I called Katies and the girl that answered didnt know what if any games would be on. I am guessing that the Manu game will be live since its on ESPN2 but I need to see Arsenal, on Setanta which she wasnt sure if they had. Bulldog it is for me. Up the Arse, up the Arse, up the Arsenal!
I've been there, to Inishmor, in May 2004. Rented a bike, rode all over the island, saw the old fort, looked over the edge of the cliff, etc. It's a great place. That ferry boat ride out to the island was wild, as the boat rocked back and forth in the Atlantic ocean. I swear the port side railing was under water a couple of times. Yes, I too drank way too much at the American Bar. They had Rockand/orRoll music playing instead of the usual traditional Irish music. Stayed overnight in a B&B up the hill a few blocks. I liked the tides in the bay, in a few hours the bay goes from full of water to empty, with boats sitting on dry sand/muck. On that trip I spent nights in Galway, Aran, Clifden, Westport, Galway again, and one final night in Dublin.

But then again... it's the Big Soccer forum way (and that MLS team that plays out of Commerce City forum way!)
It was nice. The lunch crowd was heavy but two of us were able to get a seat at the bar right away. We were right in front of a nice TV and they changed the channel to ESPN2 for us immediately. There was another table watching the Arse game in the same area. Based on their cheering that seemed like a better game to be watching. The place is big. There are four "areas" with their own bar. All of the finishes feel rich and expensive. Nice woodwork all over the place. Four types of brown sauce to choose from. Big menu. I'll go back, especially in the summer when I can sit on their patio drinking.
Not positive. The hostess tried to find it and couldn't. It's possible she didn't know where to look.
