So it's kind of like when you compare Mexican teams to Ecuadorian teams I see what you're saying. I'll be the first to admit that Colo Colo losing at home for the first time to a Brazilian team playing the way they did was dishonorable. You also talk out of your azz considering how Audax Italiano a small team beat Sao Paulo at home last time around so by them just being a Chilean team discredits your argument. I will agree though that Sport Recife being a Brazilian club will always give them an edge since they come from I'd say the most competitive league in the Americas. Sport Recife could turn into a Sao Caetano, a Paysandu or a Goias and be a rather difficult opponent.
colo colo tiene una libertadores y recife no tiene, colo colo llego a la final de la sud americana, recife nunca llego
Sorry to do this to you man, but Audax never beat Sao Paulo. SPFC won 2x1 vs Audax in SP, with 2 goals from Adriano. In Chile, they tied 0x0. This was already discussed earlier in a topic with another Chilean. I don't know why you guys mysteriously thought Audax won. They came close, but conceded 2 late. Anyways, I don't think nationalities has anything to do with why someone lost or won. Sport, being from a competitive league like the Brasileirao, means they earned their spot to be in the CL and should never be treated lightly. I don't think people realize how hard it is to get a CL spot in Brazil. In other SA nations, usually a select group dominates year in and year out and goes to the CL, thus increasing their chances to do well in the tournament than teams who make less trips, like Sport. There are rare cases where small Brazilians team played like small teams, like Paulista(almost qualified to the next phase though) and Santo Andre.
I agree with Mengao. Sport might be a small team in Brasil compare to others, but they made it to la CL. Nothing too easy for teams in Brasil to do, thinking that you got other great teams in the brasilian cup. Cant really say the same for other countries except Argentina "MAYBE"

But they beat São Paulo. http://www.conmebol.com/competicion...ento=1081&ano=2008&dv=2&flt=7&id=92&slangab=S
In 2007 Sao Paulo and Audax tied both games, in Santiago and Sao Paulo. In 2008 they both won their home games. I was somewhat confused too... Anyway, Colo Colo ain't doing shit this year, that's for damn sure. They lost again last weekend against Audax.
Like I said earlier in the topic, I pity the fool who chose Guarani to qualify Any team that plays an out of shape Negreiros as a starter right after signing on has to be horrible.
Them's fightin' words! Is there any way that la U from both Peru and Chile can face each other? Like in the 2nd round or quarterfinals? That'd be pretty sweet.
Any team can face any team in the 2nd round. One of the La Us would have to finish first in their group and the other 2nd.
Our resident Paraguayan LatinPride said they'd give Boca trouble in the group. I didn't know much about the team before the competition, so I wasn't sure what to expect from them until I saw they signed one of the worst strikers I have ever seen, Negreiros. Once I saw him starting, out of shape, without playing for months, I knew Guarani had to be bad.
Today im hoping for a miracle. Id like a minor goal difference, and that my team plays well, thats all. About both U's. It would be cool for it be form a rivalry, kinda like Chile vs Peru.
Guarani is an embarrassment of a team, They had a pretty decent team last year, had a good preseason this year and 1 week before the start of the season (about a month ago) the team went on strike , because their start player was taking girls to the "concentracion" They said either he goes or we go, well they ended up getting kicked out of the team, Guarani Lost about 5 starters and here we have the result a garbage team that does not deserve to be in the 50th edition of the Copa libertadores.
It's Jonathan Fabro, he had a pretty good season last year, until he was benched for being "Indisiplando" he thinks he is Messi or something, I guess he didn't realize he is playing in Paraguay because he is not that good or expensive, I seen him smoking and drinking at a night club last summer the night before a game. At the beginning of the year he took it too far already, while other players can not even call Home during "Concentracion" he was bringing girls in, the whole team went on strike and 5 starters even their captain was released, Olimpia picked up their captain, and now is a key piece of our team. As a whole Guarani is a joke of an organization, their Goalie showed up this season Overweight, most players HATE Jonathan Fabro who is supposed to be pretty good and they have replacement players that have only been in the team for a few weeks.
I remember an incident with him, when he played in Chile. He played for U. Catolica (for 6 months, I believe). When U. Catolica faced my team (Stgo. Wanderers), our Gk (David Reyes) got hurt and instead of kicking the ball out for the sake of fair-play, he continued to play on and Catolica went onto score. Wanderers players wanted to beat his @zz rite after the play. Obviously, I don't necessarily expect an opposing team's player to kick the ball out, but 1. if the player hurt is the Gk...come on and 2. now I get a clearer picture of what this Fabbro character is like.
Holy shit! I thought I was the only who'd noticed that! xD That dude had some serious fat rolls around his waist. Looked terribly out of shape yesterday. Anyways, today is a good day.... Chivas 4 - 0 Everlosers.
That kid is a ********ing idiot, it was all over the news a couple of weeks ago, everyone was pissed off because he was the starting goalie for the U20 National team, plus U can see by just looking at him that he is around 210+ pounds, He was being looked at by liverpool and some other team from England, but after seeing him at the U20 and looking all fat now, I don't think he is going anywhere. You add all of this and you end up with one of the worse teams in Copa Libertadores.
