Re: Mexican starting XI This one concerns me, if true.... The analysts were saying how on paper this looks way too attacking minded, but Sven is convinced he can apply the speed of Medina, Dos Santos and Castillo vs. Boca/Gooch pairing, whose strength does not lie in having quick feet ....They also said that, watching them train, Sven was in awe of how in form GIo and Castillo were supposed to be.... (hope this is not accurate come game time, just like it hasn't lately for these two when featuring for their clubs).....The marking from Mexico's end might be a bit lacking, BUT IF they score first.... that would cause huge concern, and i don't know if Bob has the plan to deal with such eventuality..
Of course they're going to SAY that Nery and Gio looked like they are in form. What else would they say? "Our players are rusty as hell?" No one plays one or two games over the space of 6 months and retains form. They might train well, but wait until the game starts.
Re: Mexican starting XI This is a pretty strong lineup, even with Vela and Guardado unavailable. The only slots where you'd say the Mexican player is definitively superior is Salcido at left back (versus Pearce or Bornstein) and centerback (Marquez is the best centerback in this contest). However, Marquez against the US never looks that good. I don't know what it is. Too much pressure? If there's one player on the Mexico team that I'd like to pluck and insert into the US squad it would be Salcido. Very, very good left/centerback and has shown class in the losses he's suffered to the US. I'm most worried about the defense on our left side if we start Beasley and Pearce (two guys out of match fitness). So Dos Santos, if he indeed plays on the Mexican right side, is a big concern. Gotta shut him down. Of course, he's also out of match fitness. This game, like most games, will come down to the midfield. And the US, from this lineup anyway, is going to have a distinct height advantage. Ching, Dempsey, Bradley, Gooch, Boca, etc. are all great headers of the ball. I mean Michael Bradley is 6'1'', while his counterpart Pavel Pardo is 5'9''. Leandro Augusto is also 5'9'', while Sacha Kljestan is 6'1" (If those are the midfield pairings). You can make a similar analysis all over the field in the matchups. Clint Dempsey is 6'1", and according to this lineup Medina is starting on the Mexican left. Medina is listed at 5'7 1/2." So the US should have a distinct advantage on set plays and in the air, which we've seen in many US-Mexico matches. Mexico will try to play the ball on the ground, work on the wings with Medina and dos Santos, and see if they can beat our defense with pace. We may be tall, but we're not necessarily fast (except for Beasley and Donovan). (I got those height from wiki, which I know could be off. But you get the idea.) I predict 2-1. Bocanegra to score on a corner. Donovan to score on a counterattack ~min 75 as Mexico pushes forward. Then Mexico gets one back towards the end as they're throwing the kitchen sink at us.
Not sure what you mean by this. Hurt people? you mean hurt their little feelings because we hate el Tri- you need to be less of a chilindrina and more of a Chavito. I never denied hating el Tri, and it is easy to do so when you see their actions. -- At any rate, it should be a good game.
I don't know about Gio but Nery has played in every single one of Shaktar's pre-season games. Probably around 10 games prior to joining the national team last weekend. Either way, Gio's situation (after returning from injury) is similar to that of Pearce and Beasley. They practice every day but play very little. How convenient.
OK, Guzan has Central-European background, his ancestors lived in Poland, the easternest country in Central Europe.
Again changing the context I said hate all you want as long as you don't interfere in people lives or hurt them, as in physically not emotionally. You know what I'm talking about don't play dumb, you have a history of making racist posts and now you say you've never done so. All I said is don't deny you have because many people have seen it. Anyway keep playing dumb it just shows how much of a man you are.
Game's about to start so i'll ssay this before the beginning///ESPN Deportes guy had it correct (all 11 of them) //// so on offense Medina, GIo Nery and Ochoa.... Leao Pavel on D mid... Osorio Marquez, Salcido and another CB who i forget Sanchez at goal yes, Sven had said he was impressed with GIo and Medina duringthis last week of training (remember they were with Sven earlier than for usual official NT matches-coaches usually have 3-4 days top to be with their "Euro" players).... Despite the response you give (a valid one at that, that the coach will praise rather than criticize too much) i think Sven starting the two of them is not so much a sign of desperation, but perhaps a carefully orchestrated plan to face the US D with their speed.... Hoping BRawdely is ready to face any problems that might arise..... tactics-wise.....
Not my fault you didn’t make sense. LOL, who’s physically hurting anyone or being racist? Go cry to the ACLU chilindrina about your made up fantasies and delusions BTW, did I not predict a DOS a CERO again
Doesn't mean he doesn't have Hispanic background as well. I have no clue what his background is but his name sounds like it could be Hispanic and Chivas USA did draft him in their first season (before they abandoned the idea of only having Hispanic players).
The match was played a few days ago, and things are getting quite spiteful here, so there's no reason for this thread to be open any more.
