What is the deal they have with Atlético de Madrid? I have seen in the news they received condecorations, jerseys but have no idea what´s the deal artist can have with a football club? Business? Money?
I read in Marca or AS that it has to do with Atletico's deal to put different movies as they premiere in Spain on their jerseys. Harrison Ford got the jersey from Atletico when he was promoting the movie "Hollywood Homicide". It's funny, because they interviewed Ford and he said that he didn't really know anything about Atletico, didn't care about sports or follow them, etc... You could tell he couldn't have cared less about soccer in Spain, it was just another publicity appearance for him. Don't know about Will Smith, but I think he's probably in the same boat regarding publicity for a new movie coming out. I expect we will see other American stars and their movies featured with Atletico as a result of this deal. Don't know which studio is arranging all of this publicity, but I would guess it's probably Fox, Universal, or Warner Bros.
Ah, yeah, Atlético´s jerseys has the name of the new Ford´s movie. So, is advertisement for the movies, humm very smart. I have seen also a lot of "Lord of the rings" advertisement in Spanish Liga, and the music of this movie in some games. About Harrison Ford I remember too the kindness of Harrison saying he didn´t know anything about A...what? "Athleticoh the Madrid" Ja,ja,ja,ja.Really what a big interest he showed.
Ford Don't give Harrison too hard a time. He lives on a ranch in northern Wyoming. Not the pinnacle of European culture/sport. Plus you'd have to feel sheepish advertising a movie that bombed almost as bad as Gigli. Quango
last week, they had a logo that appeared to read "Bad Boys Two". I do not speak Spanish so correct me.
The deal was with Colombia Tristar ... Atletico will wear the name of the studio's just-opened blockbuster throughout the season. I think there will be a new film on their shirts each month or so. At the moment it is Dos Policias Rebeldes 2 (Badboys 2). And, yes, that's why Will Smith (whose Dad is, supposedly, an Atletico fan) and Harrison Ford did the presentations. Harrison Ford was funny (although as you say Quango, he can't really be blamed for it - he was not exactly in his normal habitat): "I'm delighted that we are getting coverage through our association with ... er ... with ... erm ... this er sporting ... er ... soccer team ... [turns to the person next to him and asks, smiles embarassed] er, yes, ... er, with Atletico de Madrid (which he said with a pretty good acvent, to be fair to him)". He then admits: "Truth is, I've never been much into sports". We would never have guessed!
this could lead to a few laughers throughout the season depending on the titles of the movies Columbia's promoting. Can you imagine your team running around the field with "Titanic" on their shirts?
I've always enjoyed seeing how Hollywood movie titles get translated into Spanish. Two of my favorites were the Liz Hurley movie "Bedazzled" (Al Diablo Con El Diablo) & the animated British movie "Chicken Run' (Fuga en el Campo). I'd love to see such movie titles on Atleti's uniforms this season!
I think Chicken Run was something like fuga en la granja ... Granja was in there, I'm sure But anyway ...
