True, most of the foreign players who go to Europe from the Mexican league are Argentines. I think the reason Paraguayans like Cabañas and da Silva haven't received good enough offers to leave is because of the lack of European passports. For example players like Diego Colotto or Fabricio Fuentes are not at the level of a Paulo da Silva yet they have gone on to Deportivo and Villarreal respectively and for a transfer fee of around €5,000,000 all because they have Italian passports.

Man, Pajaro Benitez with another beautiful goal tonight, he has not only been playing very well for Pachuca but has been scoring in almost every single game for them and scores with class, he seriously better get a call for the next qualifiers. This kid has the potential to be the future of the NT.

The 2nd one was absolute class.

Another Paraguayan who scored in Mexico this weekend was Osvaldo Martínez in his team's (Monterrey) 4-0 thrashing of Puebla.

What a bunch of losers on this Sub 20 team, waaaoooo they are even worse, than the 07, sub 20 and the difference with this team is , that they don't even have any Garra Guarani, THEY SUCK , they are an embarrassment to the Albirroja, all of them played like crap and had no balls , that is what pisses me off the most, no effort at all, we were lucky to get a tie and it wasn't because we didn't give up until the end, is because brazil was just plain arrogant and didn't put the game away.

It was horrible , you are lucky U didn't watch the game, I was sooo mad , I DO remember many horrible games under manio ruiz, but the way no one put any garra was unique in this team. All the players I was hoping would jump out, sucked, JOel Da silva gave up like 4 corners just trying to look cool for the picture, Huth didn't do much neither the other kid from that plays in Portugal, the only one that had a flash of a decent player, was Nico martinez , that looked good for about 5 minutes , then was disappeared, also was embarrassing how they were all tired and getting cramps 25 minutes into the second half, WTF aren't they professionals?? Brazil didn't beat us 5 - 0 just because they where more worried about joga bonito than scoring.

All this hype about Luis Paez, it looks like Robin Ramirez is a much better striker then him.

Has Olimpia lost their mind? First they got Ebelio Ordonez and now they want Carlos Ruiz??? what the hell, we can get better forwards then those guys.

Looks like we ain't going anywhere for another season.

I personally don't know enough about him to give an opinion, but by reading the Olimpia forums, everyone is pretty mad and nervous mainly because we had a pretty young solid goalie last year, now we are getting older players as refuersos from places that are not the usual places ,refuersos come from, Guatemala, Venezuela , I hope Almeida knows something we don't know but for now everyone is pretty nervous.

I think he's past his prime. He's gotten worse when he deals with back passes by distributing them badly but still good when it comes to pks and in the air.

Speaking about Olimpia and signing Gks from the Chilean league...I had read they signed Cristian Limenza (who is Paraguayan, but was playing for Union Espanola)? Anyone else hear this, as well?

Yeah, we're having some terrible signings this time.

Why are we getting players from Guatemala? I mean Carlos Ruiz? Couldn't we have atleast gotten Pipino Cuevas instead? or even Jonathan Fabbro.

    This season looks ugly.

I'm not happy either, but we are signing players from Guatemala, because all the good Paraguayos are in libertad and any half decent Argentinian is either going to LIbertad , or one of the teams that is going to Copa Libertadores, Jonathan Fabro's Pass is valued at 5million $ he only stayed at Guarani to play in the libertadores and there is really no incentive for them to sign with Olimpia, specially knowing our financial situation, I just hope Almeida knows something we don't.

Pipino Hasn't seen significant minutes in more than 2 years, plus he can't accept the fact that he is not in demand like he used to, he has his crazy mom asking insane amounts of money for him and for what I read we have the same problem we have had for the last 4 years NO 9, we don't have a Rodrigo Lopez type of guy, we need somebody that can score , we got the Ecuadoran guy but I don't know anything about him, If I was the directiva I would make a big push for Rodrigo Lopez if he is not going to play in his team this year.

From what I know, Ebelio Ordonez is garbage. Pipino is still better then him and Carlos Ruiz, and with negotiations we could have probably got him for a decent price.

Rodrigo Lopez would be a good one too.

Pipino plays a different game than Ebelio Ordonez, the problem with pipino is that he is too dumb to understand that he can't get the money he gets in Mexico in PY, His agent is his MOM!!! have you ever heard that crazy Biatch talk? we have tryed to get him and he ended up in libertad, Almeida is a very strict coach and he hates guys like him, there was a big problem last year , becuase that guy Lucero that plays similar to pipino , was loved by the inchada, but Almeida benched him, anywyas if he comes it has to be for 1/4 of the money he thinks he is worth and I still don't think he can get us out of the hole we are in, We need a Big guy that can score, somebody similar to Palermo, Tacuara or someone like Rodrigo Lopez.

His mom once once took a key to Ramón Ángel Díaz' car when "Pipino" was at River because Ramón wouldn't give Cuevas playing, the next match Díaz put Nelson in as a starter, crazy lady she is. :D

Hopefully Nelson Cuevas will regain his old form, he was brilliant in his short stint with Pachuca.

No way we can afford neither Palermo or Tacuara, Rodrigo Lopez would be our best bet.

Did you see that Cerro got Carlos Bueno? Cerro are having much better signings then we are. No way in hell we're gonna beat them in the clasico this time.

I said somebody that plays similar to them, A big guy that just hangs around in the area and scores, I never said that there is a remote chance of getting those guys themselves.
