Damn ... !!! Sorteo??? What is going to happen???

These two teams are identical in every Stat... It's like a mirror image... But I think that Ecuador deserves it more. That's my honest opinion.

They should bring Ecuador to the field and have them decide it on penalties. :D

Wasn't the last minute penalty enough drama for the day?

I think they should bring both on field and instead of playing a whole match .. because both groups of young men are tired, they should do a penalty shoot out....

    or

    make a poll ...

Coin toss ??? to define a sporting event?????? Bullsh!t

I guess the same-sided coin came in handy.

Wow .... I can't believe such a travesty like that happened... Ecuador deserved whole heartedly to go through.

Well the guys cannot leave with their heads down, they played very well.

that was the rule .. and when you play you subscribe.. now lets see what this colombian team does in the next matches.. to take advantage of this recent outcome in favor.

Terrible way to finish for Ecuador, having to endure a whole game, picking one side over the other at different times. Hoping for the last pk to go in, and ending it all with a coin toss after a well rounded performance throughout the tournament.

Colombia weren't able to finish off their chances, two posts, a near miss and the penalty floundered at the end. Ironically chance was still on their side.

Venezuela is the one to come off with a memorable 1st round performance especially since they're hosting.

Argentina has a lot of hustle and heart when necessary, but are poor defensively. So far they have the best player of the tournament which is Salvio. He's the type of player that can break through any kind of defensive tactical formation.

1st round of Group A ended on a high note with the necessary drama.

why is it unfair? cuz ur ecuador didnt make it? honestly i think neither team should go to egypt and embarrass our people because if we play the way we BOTH did...we are gonna get killed by the europeans...i think there should have been a game on thursday to decide it all but i dont make the rules:D:D:D

All teams were pretty even in the Group stage, but Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina are gonna go through to Egypt.

Colombia did not show much, Ecuador showed more as other posters also included.

Well both teams had the same exact stats and same faults... and based on coin toss either one could have gone through based on that travesty of decision making, and thus colombia "coined" it's way through like someone mentioned before, but those were the rules so no whining please.

But based on playing and wanting it ...

i think as always brazil and argentina will come through and represent south america, uruguay can be one of those "surprise" teams as far as the rest go i think the directives need to look at themselves and really see that they are playing a big part in the demise of our teams and the lack of discipline our young players have, chile might do alright too

are u serious the only good team is URuguay every other team is trash...

wow Paraguay beat boliva 5-0, and Peru got spanked by every team.... was this not expected ???

other than these one sided games all the other teams have been garbage. Argentina is Colombia 2007. In the 2nd round teams are going to double/tripple mark Pino I mean Silivo or what ever his name is and they are going to get spanked.

Brazil other than a 2-0 victory on Chile wasnt that impressive either. I agree Colombia doesnt deserve to make it but to just be like Argentina does is BS. I think Venezuela was the best team in group A. The only thing that the other teams did better than colombia was score more goals on Peru.

I think Venezulea is going to make their 1st WC

i agree, venezuela being the host was the best team of the group, ecuador sorry but ive heard the same story about the future and look at the WC qualifiers de mayores, again ecuador y colombia on the same boat, what we need to do is realize what we have and stop candy coating things, otherwise it'll always be argentina and brazil, and whatever other team is doing good at the moment...

That's the thing... it will always be Argentina and Brazil, the question is always, who will join them.

I tell you now, the ones to go to the mundial .. are going to be Argentina, Brasil, and most surely Uruguay, and Paraguay ...

but it's true for this edition, in the mayores, we are on the same boat. Even there both tie.
