I was reading some thread in the MedioTiempo Forum and a Mexican commented that he dindt care the results of the Candian and Puerto Rican Teams, they shouln't play because they dont belong to a national league. I thinks this is stupid since the Impact qualified by winning the Voyageurs Cup, their National Championship... the Canadian Soccer League is a purely amateur league and doesnt have the resources to travel around CONCACAF. Anyways jus wanted to know your opinions. http://foro.mediotiempo.com/showthread.php?p=2903365#post2903365 thats the link if any of you that knw spanish want to go read it.
You can't be serious, you are opening a thread accussing all Mexicans of don't wanting Canadian teams on the CCL based on the opinion of some kid on the Mediotiempo forum?, man don't generalize I'm Mexican and have nothing against Canadian clubs or Puerto Rican clubs, moreover the only official Mexican institution with any power to do something, the Mexican FA has no problem with Canadian or Puerto Rican clubs, just let it go. The kid who opened the thread in Mediotiempo is clearly a fool who knows very little about international soccer, therefore you and everybody should forget about this silly matter.
I understand... its just I needed to blow off some steam... and I just wanted the opinion of the rest of the posters here... I got nothing against thinking mexicans... I do have against ignorant ones like the one who made that comment.
I dont see the problem with Canadian and Puerto Rican teams competing. They are where there at for a reason right? Look at all the Honduran and Guatemalan teams. Most are out of it.
They've done better than MLS teams. The situation with Canadian and Puerto Rican teams isn't unheard of. Wales has a very similar situation with their clubs that play in the english league system.
gat dem mexicans jajaja mentira. they just feel their league is the best in concacaf, they feel superior to all of us and they don't really care for this tournament. they rather see their teams playing flamengo or boca.
Someone is jealous that Mexican teams get to play in real tournaments. And last time I checked Mexico has the most championships in Concacaf club tournaments, dude the results speak for themselves. Give credit where credit is due, don't just be a hater. And about the Canadian thing there in Concacaf and deserve to play in this tournament. Not all Mexicans are the same.Everybody has the right to have an opinion and if you buy this garbage by one person's view your just utterly STUPID or anti -Mexican. But that's your opinion so kcuf it.
It is. You are right on this,I could careless if this was the last champions league for the region. Who wouldn't? I would rather have Mexican teams face the likes of Boca,River,Colo Colo,Sao Paulo,Santos and other teams from South America.
If teams (other than Mexican) from the area had the chance to play in a CONMEBOL tournament year after year they wouldn't care about the CCL either. It's not that we feel superior. Let's be honest, the area as a whole is years behind the rest so if you get a chance to win a CONMEBOL international tournament it is a bigger accomplishment because the competition is better.
But here is the big question if you don't mind me asking. Does Mexico need the CONMEBOL Tournaments more or does CONMEBOL Need Mexican clubs more to be apart of them?
For whome do you mean? Does it mean that CONMEBOL gets more money due to them being in the CL? Or do you mean that Mexican teams want to be in because they are more profitable when they are in the CL?
Yes,COMNEBOL gets more money in their pocket when Mexican teams play in their federation.Same reason for Mexico being invited to Copa America.
They're only saying that because they are getting pwned this year. Speaking of which, Montreal scored, so Santos now has to get FOUR goals tonight to win, and cannot tie because of the away goals tiebreaker.
It's a shame you signed off when you did OR. Damn that was a heartbreaker for Impact fans. The Impact should really laid down and died those last 15 minutes.
Other than the first 4 minutes, that entire 2nd half display by the Impact (I guess it's back to calling them L'Imp act) was worse than pathetic. They really seemed to play scared. They didn't get their midfield involved at all. It was just stupid. For the first 3 halves of the tie, Sandro Grande proved that with the ball at his feet he could tear apart the Santos defence, so why keep him from being involved? I really worry for John Limniatis' safety. He was obviously kidnapped at half-time and replaced by Dale Mitchell. I'm surprised Jason de Vos or Nigel Reed didn't mention it. You'd think a kidnapping would be quite noteworthy.
OMG, look, what happened was the altitude got to the Impact and they became exhausted, it's always the mexican clubs advantage, also Santos should have been red carded in that match and played that 2nd half with 10 men.
