If he is on Swedish time, your morning is his evening and, since it's always dark in Sweden at this time of the year ...
The dude's been on about a 22 hour bender since his 'Chester Whatshisface' thread last night. You're going to have a wicked headache sometime in the next 36 hours, my friend!
With Hoffenheim now down to a four strikers while running a 4-3-3, could they all of the sudden become interested in a Cooper or Davies?
Davies came to mind when I first heard about Vedad. I doubt very seriously if would happen but hell you never know. Demba Ba and Obasi are going to have to pick up the slack. They can do it. It might take a system change but they are both very capable strikers. Hoffenheim are thin up top, there's no question about that, so someone will have to be brought in. With their standing and a European spot at stake they couldn't afford to bring in a Davies or Cooper who might take a while to adjust to the Bundesliga. They need immediate help. I know Podolski only wants to go to Koln but if I were Hoffenheim I would make a bid and they have the money. Plus with the interest of Vedad there was no guarantee he would of been back next season. Although with an ACL tear it looks more likely he'll be back next year. With that said though I highly doubt Bayern would sell a player to a club who is direct competition for the title. Chances are great, though, they look outside Germany, probably an Eastern European country where they have found success in players.
Couldn't hurt to make a bid, but I can't see Bayern selling such a quality player to their title-chasing competitor.
Hoffenheim doesn't pay wages that are higher than Rangnick's own. And they do want an experienced scorer, not a rookie.
The guy was not a known quantity till recently. so I dont see how these two cant continue the job he was doing before the injury.Cooper and Davies are quite capable imo.
Somewhat fair point, I guess, but they got Ibisevic while Hoffenheim was in the 2.Bundesliga, not neck and neck in a title race with Bayern Munich. This is a moot point, however, as a club with as much cash and newfound prestige as Hoffenheim will look above a Cooper or Davies.
The club has stated they were not going to splash cash to get a replacement. The current trnsfer window has not generated big money trransactions and I frankly dont see that many available targets that are reasonably priced. So Davies and Cooper may fit the bill in that regards,Hoffenheim though have some other injuries to some players ( like Obasi) to deal with which may factor in theor decision.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=609950&sec=europe&cc=5901 Not exactly as cultureman put it but their GM, Schindelmeiser, said they know it's going to be a hard task finding a good striker in January and they won't pay price to get one either.
Got a chance to catch a few of the training sessions at the HDC, and Davies looks to be in fantastic form.
Back to put some weight on this thread in '09. Happy to hear some coverage of CD's performance over at the HDC, thanks! Soon Hammarby is taking over and there will be some great football on display in CA. What's a "flash disher"? Even though I am not understanding the full context it seems well thought through. Getting an urge for heated milk right now.
