They were talking about how Donovan has moved ahead of Podolski in the team. Klinsmann said a lot of things we have been reading - Landon is doing well, he communicates well, has integrated into the team and is working hard. He finished by saying that "Lukas is going to have a tough time (getting his place back)" The reporter also tried to call Klinsmann on Landon being his "close to his heart" but he said all players who take on the challenge that is FC Bayern Munich are close to his heart.
Bamberg does not usually play in this stadium, but are playing there today because of the larger capacity. - Weismain is 43 km away from Bamberg up in the hills. The team that usually plays there, used to be better but is now in the equivelant of the 10th division. Correction: Bamberg does play in this stadium while they wait for their stadium to be brought up to Regionalliga standards through renovations.
btw Sefan Kießling of Bayer Leverkusen played for Eintracht Bamberg as a youth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Kießling
Wow. They go from playing in the desert heat of Saudi Arabia to this frozen winter wonderland in less than a week. It's like the Genesis Planet from Star Trek III. Oh no. My inner geek is showing...
This game isn't going to mean much in terms of player evaluation given the conditions. It's more for the local fans.
According to the reporter, all of the Bamberg players have full-time jobs outside of the team and practice four days a week starting at 6pm. The coach also has a full-time job.
Oh I'm sure, I doubt any of them would make enough for a living on a salary from a 4th division club.
Except 8 of the teams they play against are reserve teams for professional clubs. I can't imagine most of those players have to work 40+ hours a week, though many are probably in school/university or are doing some sort of apprenticeship. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/regionalliga/rlsued/tabelle/
Wow, my calves hurt just watching them run on that slippery surface. There's a lot of extra muscle work making sure your feet don't go out from under you.
