I was simply referring to the last time we discussed "Athletic," and how um, dispondent you became when I failed to see the inarguable logic of your position, my friend.

Besides, AC Philadelphia (as in Athletic Club) would not fly past Major League Baseball Licensing Radars. Think of AFC as a compromise name.

Philadelphia Association Football Club or Philadelphia Football Club will get my vote, except apparently they won't be on the ballot - except as write-ins which will never win unless one name gets massive support like Sounders FC did. Makes me sad.

I think the two tones of colonial blue and the dirty yellow color is definitely the way to go. The SOB's got it right from the get go and it's already seared in my mind as the colors for Philly. If they go differently I'd be shocked.

Assuming that the leaked name choices are real, they seem to be very closely related to discussions here on Big Soccer regarding potential favorites. Which means that it's quite possible that BS and the SOBs in contact with the front office are having a significant impact on the branding of the club. If so, I would imagine that the yellow/blue color scheme stands a great chance for being chosen and used by the team.

Hey, does anyone know if they'll have a vote for the colors? I'm guessing no (and I haven't seen such a vote before for other teams) but you never know.

All kidding aside I don't think AFC is bad at all. I was just having a little fun. ;)

Nice as usual... only comments the fact that it only says 2010 on their and the P makes it seem a little barren to me... also for whatever reason the colors seem a little on the desaturated side for... it'd be nice if they "popped" a little more.

How many times does it have to be explained that Athletic will not be allowed?
Does there need to be a special stickied thread saying so?

    Hello:

I'm a soccer fan from Spain, and I'm following pretty closely the evolution of MLS, with the creation of new franchises.

I've made some sketches for a crest for Philadelphia (they're very rough, but I'd like to know what you think about them). I've taken different possible names to create them (City, Union, SC). The top and middle sections could be switched between the different designs, creating new ones. I also think that an eagle could be thrown on top (Benfica or Lazio style).

About the kit, and since Philadelphia colors are based upon Sweden's (or at least that's what Wikipedia says), I'd say go with Swedish NT style, that is, plain yellow jersey, blue pants and yellow socks.

Yeah I like these badges, especially the old-style football. An animal would be nice, but I think the eagle would be too close to D.C. United.

i like the above idea of the swedish NT colors... the crew are yellow, but they go with black. yellow and blue would be sicko!
