Re: Ranking the choices We decide it WWE style, a big 'ole Battle Royal at the Dark Horse after the game next Saturday. Last one standing picks the name. Fun for the whole family!
Re: Ranking the choices I understand where you are coming from in trying create unity within ourselves, but I would hope that when the naming is all said and done that there would still be unity. It is obivious that there is not consenus within the SOBs about what to name the team, but I hope we will be about the team and not the name. I think that we should just vote for whatever is our personal choice. My least favorite name right now is City and my favorite is 2010. However, if everybody with the group votes their own choice (instead of one SOB choice) and City wins I will not hold it against anybody that they voted for City and ruined my 2010 chances. They have a right to their opinion. I am here to root for the 11 Philly guys on the field wearing our colors. We have exhausted our discussion on the name, so whatever the name is, it is. It doesn't matter what the name is, I will support the team even if I intially dislike the name.
Name Love Hate Don’t Index GTNJFC 17 5 7 1.41 2010 35 15 27 1.26 City 56 55 32 1.01 AC 44 47 37 0.98 Colonials 15 20 15 0.90 SC 30 51 52 0.84 Spartans 19 31 23 0.84 Union 34 64 46 0.79 Atoms 15 36 16 0.69 Bullies 11 33 4 0.54 FF 2 24 0 0.15
The Index disagrees! With a current score of 1.26 Philadelphia 2010 is a fan favorite that the vast majority seems to be able to back on the boards. If there would be some sort of official top SoB choice, it should be 'The Mighty Twenty Ten' at this point. Or else, GTNJ FC...
Why dont we just have a naming tournament (its almost March). It could look like this. West bracket 1. GTNJFC v 16. Fury 8. Union v 9. Atoms 5. Colonials v 12. Alliance 4. AC v 13. Atlantic East Bracket 3. City v 14. Clippers 6. SC v 11. FF 7. Spartans v 10. Bullies 2. 2010 v 15. Bolts Winner is the name we all support
Given these trends, it seems like Philadelphia 2010 should be the write-in candidate. Spartans, Atoms, etc. just don't have enough support. I can't believe I'm going to write this but it would be nice to see either one final poll with the four official choices and 2010 or a run-off between City and 2010 to see what has the most support before Monday.
I think we need to consider only registered votes in the index. I know it entails more work, but I found that over half of the votes against Union were unregistered.
Just out of curiosity... what happened to the name Independence.... that name is sounded pretty decent right now to me.
