Now all you need is a team and some supporters.

is it me or does the skeleton not fit with that image? maybe make something more "philly" be the standpoint of the crest. i don't know, maybe like an image of city hall or something. for some reason the skeleton just doesn't fit like it does for the SoB crest.

I'd like to remind you that this is a spinoff group of SoB for the new WPS team coming in 2010 or "Zolo Gals" as it were... The skeleton head signifies this, and the Liberty Bell at the top does represent Philadelphia.

    Outsider here:

Does SoB know it is being spun off?

If so, the name is fine - thought it sounds strange.
If not, the name sounds more "rip off" than "spin off".

sure its a spinoff, i was just sayin the skull idea looks awkward underneath the name "daughters of betsy." maybe i'm just sexist or something because i identify skulls and skeletons and the like with male sports teams haha. :D

maybe if you have thread and needle involved as the crossbones it would make sense!

I just want to remind you that SoB Bolton is the interim head of the DoB, and he may be a tad upset with the amount of liberties you are taking with this whole thing. Just an FYI.

I'm all for getting the ball rolling creatively, but that means brainstorming...we need thinkers at this point and not deciders.

And it should be noted that the lack of discussion on this topic doesn't mean it's not being thought about. There's just not a whole lot to do yet. I'm going to try and organize a couple of trips to Liberty games this year to see how much interest there is and who is actually going to come out and be active.

Maybe we can go to Sky Blue FC games just to root against them!

I think we should take a busload of supporters to the WPS Final!

I am all about supporting the WPS team, i plan on going to soe of the games, just like i plan on going to MLS games...but i think we can still just keep its supporter group the Sons (daughters are implied) of Ben. A busload to the Final would be great, but i would guess a large number of those people on the bus are going to be SoB's anyway...why make another group? Lets just expand the SoB realm.

I think the idea is a seperate, but associated, group, will have more focus put on it. We're going to be busy chaps in 2010.

Sorry, I guess you have to know when Davey and I are joking and just writing the female versions of exactly what we were writing 2 years ago.

I'll leave this side to others. I don't like watching the women's game.

For the record, though, I would go to Bridgewater just to root against Sky Blue :D

How's about, instead of Daughters of Betsy:

The Suffragettes: in honor of the women's rights movement and of what Philly sports fans do best (suffer).

Or, a name that reflects an important Philly contribution to women's rights rather than a made-up colonial woman. For example, Women's Medical College was for decades the first and only place in the United States (and possibly the world) where a woman could go for a real, formal medical education -- I'm sure there's something we could do with that. The Hospital Wing?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...13 stars, needle and thread. The font is maybe a bit TOO fancy, though, but that's a fantastic starting ground.

Love it as well. I think the logo has a complete and professional look and the font is 100% Americana. Great work. I can see this logo catching a lot of eyes and merchanidising this would be easy.

Looks good, but I think the stars need to be evenly spaced in the circle and then the needle/thread placed. If it covers part of one or two of the stars, so be it.

Thanks for the love y'all! :) But as Bolton said, lets take it as a starting ground if you like it, because I put it together rather freehandedly and it definitely needs some touching up.
