Team colors are blue, white, gold and black. Uniforms — yes, he's negotiating with Puma, the German sporting goods company — and crests will be unveiled down the road.

Right now Waite is more interested in selling tickets, which he said is the key to attracting sponsorships.

Waite and Pecora will learn about their league schedule at the USL league meeting in Tampa, Fla., later this week.

Waite also plans to put together a four-team Kitsap Challenge Cup in April, hoping to lure teams from the Midwest and other regions to the area. He talked about playing games on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with the winner taking home $7,500 out of a pot of $10,000-to-$15,000.

"It's something we're taking the initiative on and the league likes the idea," he said.

I took a lot of video at the name announcement, and it will be making its way to www.GOALKitsap.com over the next few days and weeks.

Here is Pumas youth coordinator James Ritchie talking Scottish football and Kitsap Pumas...

James tells us he is talking with some Brits about giving Kitsap a go in 2009...

I appreciate all that you do it keep people informed about soccer in Seattle, but it'd sure be nice if your RSS feed was full-text.

It'd lower the activation energy for reading the posts. I've noticed that feeds I subscribe to that have full text I invariably read (whether the headline is interesting or not), while I only read those that are headline only (or v. short excerpt only) if a headline really grabs me.

*shrug* but there's always the chance that I'm much more lazy than most ;)

Anyway, it's nice to see fan specific blogs for our team. The Mariners already have two of the best fan blogs in baseball with USS Mariner and Lookout Landing. I think the Sounders will wind up with the same!

Fantastic stuff! Good to see you are teaching her well :) I grew up in the post NASL, pre MLS era so I missed out on supporting a local club as a kid (not from around here originally). Photos like this make me extremely happy and proud that things have changed. Well done!

Check with Boeing. They were using CATIA back in the day. Might still.
