Not one bloody stripe. It's tecnhically not even a design. It's like postmodern art (or something).

I guess in this economy any lines or stripes would be seen as an extravagance.

I'm not picking. I really don't like anyone's uniforms anymore.

So they're not even going to have the players' names on them?

I'm telling you, it's a slippery slope to shirts vs. skins.

It makes me particularly mad because this should be a strength for our sport.

    1. The uniforms should attract attention and be an aesthetic bonus and
    2. They should distinguish the indoor game from the outdoor game by being "Americanized."

Plus, even if you pay more for custom jerseys you could likely recoup most or all of your investment by auctioning them off at the end of the year.

    Off the rack is whack!

And while I'm ranting, why are so many goalies wearing shorts this year? Am I one of the few survivors who has actually SEEN a pro indoor game before?

I'm suprised the refs are sporadically calling "offsides" during games. The very culture of indoor soccer is disappearing from our own indoor leagues.

So every PASL Pro team currently (as of 1/4/09) has the players name on them right?

    EVERY PLAYER, EVERY TEAM...........right?

EVERY PLAYER, EVERY TEAM in PASL Pro yes?

    Right?

not bad at all. I wonder if orange with black shorts and then black with orange shorts wouldn't look bad? but all black looks dope.

wish the storm had all black again...atleast Rockford does.

wouldn't it be sick if Rockford got neon green shirts

Whoa, where did that come from? Are you filling in for Ray today?

No, a few PASL-Pro teams don't have names on their jerseys and it's a big sore point with me. Not only is it very minor league, but it's hard for fans to figure out who anyone is.

There was an incident just yesterday with Detroit's PASL-Premier team where the players just grabbed any old jersey with no regard for the numbers on the back.

A team of five year olds could look more professional than Cincinnati or Massachusetts (equal opportunity rip) if they had nice uniforms that also had names on the back.

    There, I said it.

I don't even like that the Yankees and Red Sox don't have names on their jerseys.

But if there are no names and only numbers, you might sell more programs!

I am here, just a little slow today. MY counter-point was that the PASL-Pro teams don't have numbers/names on some of their jerseys because most teams would spend a fortune on kits. Have you seen some of the size of those rosters????

We agree on something Syd....actually we agreed on alot of things before you set up camp in the lowly PASL. The goalkeepers in shorts to me is horrific. Screams we don't have a regular goalie so we are using this guy.

    Just for the record...

La Raza goalies played yesterday in "normal" full length sweatpants... I really don't know what was the deal with those shorts.

The TX goalie played in shorts...

    Ray,

I have known both you and Syd from various message boards for nearly 15 years now. You and Syd are remarkably similar. The only difference is that after 7 or 8 years of taking cherry picks at things from the sideline he decided to rise to my bait of doing something about it. He moved half way around the country to make less than minimum wage, living on someone's couch to try and make a difference with something he believed in. He then decided that he wanted things like they were back in the 80s and started his own league operation, with wild things like ticket sales commitments before they would be granted a franchise. That is why his league didn't happen (although those people who got to see a little behind the curtain would be amazed at how close he actually got). For that he has taken heaps of grief. His sniping at other leagues, given his "official title" could be better placed, but does his position change the way he should speak to people that have known him since he was just "Syd".

Indoor soccer is like the old family pet. Its never going to be running around like it was when you remember it. The time has come to make a decision about it. Do you be happy with it sitting in front of the fire, eating christmas presents and crapping in the living room, or is it time to take it to the vet and have it put to sleep. It is NEVER going to be the way it was, (unless someone on here wins the Powerball). Your smart ass comments, while, in my mind, totally justifiable, are getting old. You don't seem to have a positive thing to say about anything, and you are becoming the soccer-man-lite, of big soccer, and that isn't the Ray that I have known for the last decade or more.

I suggest you embrace the new world order of indoor, or just don't come back to the boards, because all you are going to be is a bitter old man telling us how good it used to be.

Sorry but if this year is any example to your "new world order" of indoor soccer than there isn't a future. This IS a great game we have, and I will continue to post because I DO care what happens. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it. Just because there maybe won't be "glory days" anymore, doesn't mean what we still have can't be done right.

Wow you are a bitter little man.

Do like pinching your nipple until you can't stand it anymore and then when the pain subsides you do it again and again? If this is you get help quickly.

    Gareth well said.....
