Wow, you know somethin? I think you're right. I guess the idea of having Real Madrid jerseys with special meanings for me personally really is a stupid idea... and so is supporting the club financially which has brought me so much joy since childhood. Anybody want my collection of Real Madrid tops? I'm guessing there is somewhere around 40 of them all together now... including a couple of match worns, signed, etc. It's stupid of me to collect these, especially since the only reason I've ever wanted one was so I could, I guess, say I'm a better fan than somebody who doesn't have the means to collect like I have.

    Shucks.

Oh, and regarding the price my wife paid for the Guti Castilla one, I'll ask her, but she said she got a good deal--probably about $100 or so.

That's how I am as well. The special ones hang on the walls in my home, but the others get worn on game days. And I love how now based on what elblanco says, being American is a negative thing.

Haha, yea elblanco certainly seems pretty stuck up. I'd say that we American fans often deserve more credit than Spanish fans, because we have to go out of our way and buy separate soccer channels just to watch the games, and have to pay expensive sums of money for airfare/lodging (which I certainly plan on doing as soon as I can afford to) to visit the stadium and see an actual La Liga/CL game of our favorite club live.

We have to depend on English media to translate Spanish media about our club (if we don't know spanish), and we have to deal with the fact that there are rarely any Soccer fans in the America, and if they are, they are generally very casual fans who still think Figo and Ronaldo (fat) are the best players in the world because they haven't caught a game in 4 years. And if they do follow, they usually only follow the BPL or the Mexican league. In short, we have no one to talk to, which is why we have to talk to people in forums. It is very frustrating for us Americans, but we persevere.

Give us some credit, elblanco. And if we spend money to buy Real Madrid shirts, and wear them in public giving the club free advertisement in the States (helping the club financially), then I think there is an argument that we are better fans than those that think they are too good for that sort of thing. I'm sure Real Madrid's financial department would agree.

You could use Google Translate or actually learn Spanish ;).

Well, I actually understand/speak/can read spanish much better than the average college-educated american. I've taken about 8 years of it, got an A in my Senior year of college, and spent 6 weeks in Costa Rica, where my ear/vocabulary got much better. But, my comprehension/vocabulary is still not at the level that makes trying to extract information from Spanish Journalism very time efficient. Too much time and effort involved, and I still often don't get the real message becuase I won't understand certain phrases and such.

And google translate!? If it is anything like freetranslation.com or similar translation sites, then that is hardly worth the time either.

But, I will learn spanish fluently some day soon. I'm gonna get rosetta stone, and I plan on taking a semester abroad in Spain during grad school. If not that, then I will just live a couple months in Costa Rica. I'm really on the verge of being bilingual. I can't wait to acheive it. :D

Until then, I have to rely on ESPNSOCCERNET, goltv.tv, goal.com and the like. Sucks.

Why would you want that monstrosity .

I honestly didn't think we had a black shirt last year, because I had obviously erased that one from my mind, due to the pain it brought to my poor little eyes.

I had already checked there, no luck. Mmsports had it for a long time at a good price but I slept on it. No worries though, I'll find it eventually.

Celebrate Raul's 500th game by buying his shirt. Kitbag is running a special promotion in which Raul printing is free. Therefore:

Real Madrid Home or Away kit with Raul printing - $29
Real Madrid Champions League Home / Third with Raul printing - $34

    1. Enter www.kitbag.com/motdmag in browser. This will unlock a small savings on every item in the online shop.

Shipping is $11 to the US.

Note: Kitbag runs Real Madrid's online store.

I already have Diarra I's Home jersey but I'll get a Raul to play in.

For any of you guys that might be interested (and didn`t read this post) I`m reposting this because I think it is a good deal:

It turns out that, in celebration of Raul`s tying (and now surpassing) the great Di Stefano`s record, Realmadridshop.com are selling Real Madrid shirts with the Raul-7 print included, free of charge.

On top of that, if you are a U.S. shopper (and maybe other countries too, but then, the promotion kinda wouldn`t make sense), everything on the site is 15% off in honor of U.S. President`s day.

So, to give you figures, I just got a 08-09 White Raul home jersey for $61.76 with shipping included in the price. Normally, that would cost about $85 altogether.I thought it was a pretty good deal, so I went for it. :D

good stuff, i've already got sneijder for the home jersey. seeing what our jersey next season may ultimately look like, at this price i should stock up on this seasons kit :)

if only klaas came with #9, i'd be all over that....oh wait a minute, duh me i could always customize the blank home shirt, doh!

    btw...i don't see the 50% off yet.

Click on the item and it should reflect the new price. I already have 2 home kits because of sales like this ($29.00 shipped for Raul, $40 shipped for Diarra in the beginning of the season) but who knows how many i'll have at the end of the season

I had gotten the Raul one because it was a nice sale and I wanted to have the shirt he broke the record with.

Now.. If only i can muster the courage to have "Lass" on the back of a shirt.

I have a 2004-5 away jersey, and a long sleeved 06-07 CL jersey, neither with names. Both are presents from women, both in the $40-70 range I believe.

If Kaka or CRonaldo do come, I can't imagine what the prices will skyrocket to. I will be hoping I get one of those from female friends in that case. :D

prices shouldn't be affected, really, unless the kit and printing are rare. but with a club like real madrid, there'll be plenty.

if that 06-07 CL jersey is size xl or xxl and you decide to part with it. Let me know. I have a short sleeve version from the league. Roberto Carlos printing on that one.

I was hoping to acquire a long sleeve sometime during the season with v.Nistelrooy but i slept.

I think I have called him Lass about once, twice if you count that one. Being that a lass is a girl where I come from, probably the same for you guys, I refuse to call him anything but Lassana.

Just pretend the Diarra shirt is him, or get Lassana and be a bit different :D.
