Why is the game between the Metrostars vs DC United not on Fox Sports World? the other semi-final was live on Fox Sports World, I was under the impression the Fox Sports World had the right for this games.
I'm not really sure why this game is not on TV, but my guess would be that it's all part of the New Jersery Tourism Bureau's plan to get more people to visit Rutgers tonight. Sadly, I don't think FSW or the USSF has the power to stand up to the NJ Tourism Bureau.
The game was originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but USSF moved it so as not to have DC and Metro play Tues-Thurs-Sat all in a row. Thurs-Sat-Wed is a bit more manageable. I assumed FSW had some sort of prior commitment for tonight, so they can't show the game.
It is my understanding that Fox SportsWorld shows a replay of the English Premier League "Game of the Week" at 8 p.m. Wednesday nights. Since tonight's game is tonight during that time slot, it won't be shown. That is why last week's USOC match was on Tuesday night instead of Wednesday night.
FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!FOX SPORTS WORLD HATES MLS!!!!!!
Yeah, I think all us FSW fans are drooling over the prospect of watching the nil-nil draw between Manc and Spurs. I'm a Tottenham fan and I don't even care to watch that game. I've seen the damn highlights five times since it was played, why the heck would I want to sit through the other hour and 45 minutes of crap?? Although, if you haven't seen the 'lites, there are some pretty amazing Keller saves in this game. Thanks to Tottenham's sieve of a back line, Man City had numerous chances to go ahead and blew 'em all.
I thought it was wierd that the last cup game at Rutgers was filmed... but wasnt shown anywhere. I know it was filmed because they showed highlights on Metro Soccer Report on MSG.
It is horrendous that the game will not be shown. Had it been on that Tuesday I woulda been there. I have a class tonight, have to teach, otherwise would be there. FOX has the rights, but date shift blew the b'cast. Will it be taped for rebroadcast? Please, I'll watch it on Galavision, Univision, Telemuno. Hell I'll even tune in Lifetime or the Oxygen channel if they show it. How 'bout doing a barter deal with The Shopping Channel and let that guy who sells the knives do color commentary. PBP - Edgar makes a run up the wing, passes to Gavin. CC - And you know the Frontier Buck Knife makes a nice present for a young man just turning seventeen.
we probably the only team in the MLS without a english radio station so we are out of lucky, I don't know if Wado the spanish station is broadcasting the game.
Fortunately, DC United do have an English language radio deal and their station also streams live on the internet. Check out the DC homepage for the link. It's a shame that we have to listen to their broadcast, but it beats what's on offer from Metro.
We only have Spanish language radio here in Dallas, as well. We even have a local, English, weekly soccer call in show, but no game broadcasts......brillant.
I think the USSF pays to have the Open Cup shown on FSW. The biggest factor is that the US Women's Team is playing in the quarters of the WWC tonight at 8pm which is being shown on ESPN. And the USSF probably thinks that noone would watch the Open Cup semi because the WWC quarter final is on ESPN.
FSW always shows the DC games and the Revolution games one of the two each week always but why cant they show any Metros?????? I sense a conspiracy!!!!!!!
What's the field conditions for thie field in the Rutgers. I"m guessing there are fooball lines. But what are the dimensions? Any close to what they are at GS?
El Metro Fan, Someone has posted some pictures of the field and it looks to be in great shape. I wonder if the Metros could bid for the final? Home field (Rutgers) would be nice, not to mention the game could be palyed on grass with no football lines.
The game was at Yurcak Field, a dedicated soccer/lacrosse stadium, so no American football lines. Field was in beautiful shape, Cook College (agricultural school) is doing it's job well.
