if we want a quality RB we shouldn't be buying diarra - he can play there but only in the same way as higuain can play RM.

And I disagree with your comment about drop off in quality. salgado at RB > Guti in CM.

And as CM is more important than RB then i fuilly expect diarra to replace his namesake alongide gago in CM.

Indeed what I should have said have said was unlikely or probably not going to be around for the long term, but I think you get my point.

    Eh you're not worthy.

I'm sure you are happy with us paying 20+ mio € for a Portsmouth player, but everybody else are laughing at us. Who can blame them.

"El Portsmouth, en su página web oficial, ha confirmado que ha aceptado "una sustancial oferta" (inferior a los 20 millones que exigía el club inglés en un principio) del Real Madrid por Lassana Diarrà."

Portsmouth, on their official webpage, has confirmed that it has accepted "a substantial offer" (less than the 20 million that the english club demanded) from Real Madrid for Lassana Diarra.

...I suppose before we criticize the transfer fee we should wait until we know the actual figures.

Ok, you are right let's wait till it's official.

This is a comment on Marca, I pretty much agree.

I'm washing my hands of this shit...im tired of getting infraction points for saying what no one else is brave enough to say. I'm putting you on ignore, I hope someone else calls you out on your shit.

I don't think a lack of bravery has much to do with it, Achilles. Just let it go.

I think he is severely overpriced but what do we expect? We are Real Madrid & are signing in the winter transfer window. No one is going to sell to us unless for inflated prices. We could sign South Americans, but they need time to adapt & we need help right now.

I like this signing because he strengthens two of our weakest areas @ RB backup & DM backup. Plus he is only 23 & reminds me of Claude. He may be whiney but he should be reminded that we are Madrid & will ship his arse in a second like crybinho.

And to demo, if you could state realistic alternative signings instead of just whining, it would make you look less of an arse.

Believe me, we're tired of giving infractions to both of you and cleaning up the mess. You may argue vehemently but suicide demands, extreme language and personal insults will not be tolerated. That's just the way it is.

There is only one Makelele and we shipped him out for nothing. Time to stop living in the past.
Anyways, I hope Diarra 2.0 plays well at DM, Good luck and Welcome!!

I believe the record will show that Chelsea paid pretty good money for Makelele.

Well I was speaking relatively, 20 mil I believe it was is good money, true (good catch btw :D) , but it left us with essentially no one at DM until M Diarra showed up. That deal was a big reason we dropped of the map, again relatively speaking, meaning finishing 4th and 2nd in La Liga, and early CL exits, after he left. 20 mil is little compensation for all the anguish of seeing Barca win the league 2x in a row.

    Fair enough.
Let me ask you though would you sell Makelele for 20 mil?

I'd have sold him for less.

This topic has been over-debated. It was not the sale of makelele that hurt us but rather the lack of an adequate replacement.

That's what I wanted to say in the first place. My point got lost due to a numerical value error. Thankfully we have a forum full of accountants to point out my mistake. Anyways diff thread diff time.

He's a good player. Or should i say he is a good backup player (at the madrid level). I wouldn't pin my hopes on him becoming the next makelele. Or for that matter him sitting on the bench quietly. If we paid anything over 15 i'd be disappointed.

Not taking a swing at LSD (lassana diarra) but i really hope we start signing some matchwinners in the summer. A crack like ronaldo or benzema or villa. Somebody who can make something magical happen. We lack some of that X factor with players like vdv and lsd and saviola. Good players they all are but they are not in the elite category. We lack some of that.

Anyway, thats a topic for later. Welcome LSD. Hope you don't turn into a BITCH like you did at chelsea and arsenal.

We actually sold him for €28 mill. back then but it is close to 23 in today's market due to the Pound's decline against the Euro.
